Peugeot 908 testing 2007

Thought I'd start up a thread about Peugeot's pre LeMans testing.

Latest old news is that there will be no Sebring test due to the timing of Le Mans practice.

Many pics and vids have been shown of the car lapping at Paul Ricard but I've not heard much at all about times or more importantly reliability.

What do you know? Discuss!

I don't see that there is much to discuss. The only official testing times we are likely to see will be from the group LMS test. The rest will be rumor or not revealed at all.

Tom908V12 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I use this thread that seems to be appropriate to the news I bring

During three days next week(from thursday to saturday)Peugeot-Sport will have intensive test with the 908(especially an endurance test of 30 hours)at the HTTT Paul Ricard circuit and for the occasion a new driver will join the team, most likely one who will be part of the team in 2008 for Le Mans racing

The source of the news, a guy cloth to Dino Lunardi(winner of the 207 Spider Cup who won the right to test the 908 for a day the same days as the official test with the other drivers)also wrote that the new driver(name kept secret for now)comes from the Formula One circus...

I personally bet it will be austrian driver Alexander Wurz

It has sense, because Wurz expressed recently at Autosport he wants to be back at the 24h of Le Mans with a winning team !!!

Only two winning teams are available, Audi and Peugeot, but Audi already announced the drivers will be the same as last year

Peugeot wanted to keep all drivers of this year but unfortuneately Bourdais wanted F1, and Villeneuve Nascar...so they will have to find two new drivers for 2008 Le Mans race...

Depending on which side of the pond he's racing on, that might not mean much!

Ralf hasn't done to well in F1 lately, but I am sure he is an excellent driver. Top factory ALMS/Le Mans drivers were winless in F1.

he'd struggle to outqualify anything...then again, he couldn't be much slower than he was in the toyota.

That makes sense. So he will replace Villeneuve? Is Bourdais allowed to participate in Le Mans?

Bourdais as Villeneuve are definitely not part of ANY Le Mans team next year

Peugeot will have to find another new driver again for next year...

That's a great shame (although MS might think otherwise ). The atmosphere was electric during Wednesday qualifying this year when he put the Pug on pole. He created a real buzz of anticipation and expectation each time he got in the car. A true French hero, his presence is good for Le Mans, he'll be missed!

Martin Short (reference to a certain 'racing incident' in 2004 ).

Incidentally, it was Sarrazin, of course, who set the pole time not Bourdais. Ooops, another senior moment!

According to Sportautomoto(italian magazine)Peugeot has already selected a line-up for 2008 Le Mans !!!

One of the 908s would be driven by Lamy/Sarrazin/Wurz !!!

Why is this so strange? Audi already did the same.

Let's hope Wurz fixs in the car. He might have to wait for the 908 Evo with the raised cockpit
