Its this way and it is part of the reason why sports car racing isn't as big as other forms like F1 and CART. The races typically are far enough apart that fans have time to get interested in other things and sometimes forget that there is a sports car race on. Also, TV coverage in the US is less than optimum and it has not helped to put the teams and drivers up in the spotlight.

lets hope that the excellent coverage that the British GT's are getting on Terrestial T.V will help to promote things.
Eurosport does its bit with the FIA GT's, but it does seem a bit half hearted. |
