Same 1 driver, no pitstop rules as past years? I love this event but I'm hoping they turn it into a 2 driver race with pit stops at some point; at the moment it's too short and half of it takes place under SC.

I can see driver's changing and refueling during race are not included in Macau's track license

A qualifying race will be conducted for 12 laps, which will then be followed by a 60 minute main event race.

No driver change, which I think is good. I am not a fan of driver changes. Changing drivers only add confusion to the spectators.

It is like doubles tennis. If one could win in singles then one would not play in doubles.

That entrylist is a mixed bag as far as drivers go. Theres some top shelf in there as far Bamber Vanthoor Parente but its a shame we dont see the cream of the crop over the whole field. Its a shame we dont see some more factory drivers for something called the World Cup. Im guessing money is the issue here and I can understand but for something that is billed as the 'World Cup' you'd expect a stronger field.

It's usually streamed on the event's own site. Obviously, could be a different broadcast deal with the rebrand, but I'm hoping it's still available.

Only Fong crashing his Bentley. Did they repair Coutos Mclaren or is it a spare car? The damage from qualifying looked bad.

Thats the most competitive an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 has been since the car was released.

The only upside of no commentary was being able to listen to the Aston V12. A delight for the ears.

He did a dirty brake check right before they went back to green. Maro Engel was complaining about it in the press conference, and it was why Mücke got the penalty.

"Wir waren fast bei 200 km/h, als Stefan auf die Bremse trat, und es war eine echte Überraschung. Ich hatte wirklich Angst, dass die anderen hinter uns nicht ausweichen können, doch glücklicherweise gab es keinen schweren Unfall." -- http://www.motorsport-total.com/mehr...-15112111.html

"We were already doing 200km/h, when Stefan suddenly hit the brakes. I really feared that the others behind us couldn't take evasive action, but luckily no heavy accident happened."

Well, the BoP is posted on the official website.

Interesting how much the new R8 has to be slowed down especially relative to the old R8.

I guess as a spectacle it "works" but fairly boring racing. Highlight has to be the amateurs crashing behind the safety car.

What a thoroughly Macau-y end to that one.

Though there was more passing than I predicted (the prediction being none), and even that was because the second SLS was partially crippled.

I actually did enjoy watching the the 4 cars battling nose-to-tail for a while, showing their various strengths and weaknesses, which is all you can expect from this track.

Nice one John Shen. AMG must be loving this guy atm. Good end to the weekend for AMG. Though after both cars crashed out earlier.
