What! No more Plastic?
I hear that Holden have flicked Tim Pemberton from his PR role with the company after what must be 30 years service.
Apparently they are going in-house from now on. Sad to see I reckon. Anyone else heard this? |

The Barry Oliver story is a few weeks old now (there's already a thread on here about it).
As for Pemberton - not a surprise as Pembertons took the road, about 3 years ago, of issuing everything in PDF format which didn't exactly go down too well with a number of their 'users'. At least they weren't as late as those that (used? stil?) to come from Perkins and Steven Richards - often 10 to 14 days after the event had taken place! |

Interesting to see Plastic pop up as Julie Bamford's agent.

Could Tim's departure from Holdens be the last of the people involved in the Polariser?
I read Bill Tuckey's "Rise and Fall of Peter Brock" some time ago and from memory it was Plastic who actually coined the term "Polariser"... |

And why a picture of Todd at JDR and Ingall in his PMM car? Both teams previously had independent media. Have Holden taken control of all their teams media?
Lets see if they can keep their spin in line with their name. |

I guess I've taken a jump to suggest the basic team PR services have also potentially been taken over. No doubt drawing too long a bow. |

Is there any strategic competitive advantage in having a different PR company over another? Maybe, maybe not. It is also quite likely that as PMM have added a major commercial sponsor to their sponsor roster, which as a company operates with its own marketing and public relations unit (someone has to bang out 40 catalogues a year and countless teev ads) , that they would want to continue their association with their most recent media outlet. It appears that the "independent" that managed the Sirromet brand, as distinct from the PMM race team, is still in residence... however with the reduced involvement of the Sirromet brand in the PMM operation in 2008, is more than likely one of the reasons for the perceived change. Presuming any of this actually happened |

Veracity will be doing all of Jack Daniel's and Supercheap Auto's PR concerning racing. As well as much work with HMS.
