touringcarnut should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The AD breaks!!!

You can just imagine it, the ad breaks....
"Thompson move up alongside Muller, he's got the inside line, he attacks"CUT (cheezy ITV screen before adverts, picture of Muller looking serious at Reid and Plato) "...fairy washing up liquid is really great......"
This is my fear- and who's commentating!!??!!

2 things...

1. The coverage is pre recorded not live so good bits shouldn't be missed.

2. The series needs more sponsorship to survive how many up and coming drivers find it hard to get sponsorship because companies ask the question, whats in it for us?

Well said Eddie. To have the races broadcast a week late but at prime viewing time, especially after F1 qualifying, is brilliant news. If it means adverts now and then, I'm not complaining. Think of the alternative!

RIKB should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Being shown as a recorded show a week later means that there will be no loss of action because of action due to Ads.

In fact there is one advantage. How many times have you dashed out to the loo only to comeback and hear "What a great move that was"

Now you just hang on till the next advert break!

Simple solution to the adverts... tape the programme and watch it later, with the viewing-enhancement known as fast forward!

I think i've made my point

But i'm just hoping there are a few rounds clashing with F1 although saying that did Murray commentate on BTCC rounds clashing with F1 races (excluding British GP 1992-96!)

Murray was able to commentate on both because the touring car commentary is recorded after the race. Of course, the actual live broadcast races (a few in 97, 98, 99 and 2000) are the exception.

So, James Allen could easily commentate on the BTCC!

Sorry, but I can't see any scenario whereby Murray comes back to the microphone, excluding some sort of charity stunt. He has retired and retired gracefully in my opinion, I don't see him giving it even a second thought.

No one was suggesting Murray as a possible commentator. The concept was as to whether James Allen could combine F1 with BTCC, as Murray did in the BBC F1 days

I happen to like John Watson. I think Cox, Watson, and somebody else could do the job well.

Bundle? No, I know who you mean. Martin Brundle. They would make a very boring couple.

Do you not mean the great Martin Haven - next person commentator to Muzza, who (Gloat Gloat No1 of 2 ) mentioned me on Eurosport this year, and who should have replaced Muzza instead of the Devil - complete with Havenisms.

Mind you, that's more for the F1 forum I suppose
