Blazing fast shorter oval. POWER aims to do well with the monkey off his back if the Dario frieghter doesn't crumble.

It's surprising to me that HVM did not try to find a replacement driver for this race since there are quite a few oval specialists available at this point.

Hopefully, Simona will be back fully healed once the Indy Cars return to the road and street circuits.

Well done Marco on the win. Dario seemed to have given up victory after lap 180 or so (and who can blame him after Power's shunt and the points system) but there was a genuine battle for a while between him, Marco and Kanaan.
Gutted for Servia with his pit stop problem, and less so Sato who was strong all evening before walling it. Danica rather anonymous after that front row start.

I couldn't get a decent feed so I missed the race but congrats to Marco Andretti on his first win. Apparently Power suffered mild concussion; I'm sure he'll pass the imPACT test before Toronto.

Indy may or may not be as glamorous as the F1 and some other venues but there is one really nice thing about it and that is, there is no fn BE around it. For that I am humbly thankful.

Pity about Power. Sato, the Wall Magnet, struck again.

Andretti didn't luck into this one. He raced hammer and tongs with Kanaan and Kanaan is a tough driver to crack.

I was wondering whether Sato had managed or not to stuff the car into the wall.

I knew the result but finally got to watch the whole race on YouTube thanks to some French guy; thouroughly enjoyed it and it made up for a lacklustre European GP. The race certainly came alive after halfway. It wasn't Team Penske's day and it was good to see KV Racing showing what they are potentially capable of; shame about Sato, though this time he wasn't the only one caught out on turn two. Dixon did an amazing job coming from 23rd to 3rd. Good to see a decent crowd in the stands, for once.

Indy will recover in spite of Tony George. It would not have if BE were at the helm. Just sayin.

Oh, I was rooting hard for Tony Kanaan. Speaking of green, check Curt Cavin's Q&A tomorrow to see if I got lucky.

It's going to take time for Indy to recover. It was great to see a good crowd at Iowa but that needs to happen at every race and it hasn't for quite some time but hopefully the new car/engine package will generate that interest for the 2012 season.

I count myself amongst those pleasantly surprised with Marco's driving. The race was pretty good the whole way through, and the crowd was more than decent.

Can anyone here convince Bernard to get Indycar back to Richmond, Virginia? I know this probably should go in the Alabama thread but, hey, that is history and this thread is more current. lol
Alot of folks left jonsing for Indycar there. Thanks.
