Suzuka 10 Hrs 2019

Suzuka 10 Hours
24-26 August 2019

Starting the thread here, starting to put together expected entry list.

Expect to see a healthy field joining the IGTC season long entries such as KCMG, Strakka, GruppeM, HubAuto, BMW, Honda, Porsche, etc.

Team Goh mclaren are due to enter 2x Mclaren 720s GT3's.

Mikka Hakkinen will drive 720s GT3 alongside Katsuaki Kubota and Hiroaki Ishiura, team TBC, although could well be the second Team Goh car.

Interesting to see Kubota, not sure what his history in Modern racing is but pretty quick in Group C amongst others.

IGTC have announced an initial list of MFG backed entries, already at 22 GT3s

I imagine we will see plenty more, that doesn’t include the Haikkinen Mclaren, yet either

37 GT3’s so far- more to come..

http://vmail.vertouk.com/userfiles/s...2024_04_19.pdf

Of note-

Haikkenen’s Mclaren is in addition to the 2 Tea Goh Cars.

The Callaway Corvette is back again, for a local, Silver Cup team

The Lotus Evora mother chassis will make an appearance, interested to see how it fairs against the GT3’s

Great to see a double entry from Earl Bamber Motorsport back in IGTC, in addition to two ‘Team Porsche’ run cars

Garage59 car joining with a Pro-Am car, currently the only Aston Martin, wonder if we will see a Dstation car

If they bring back Dave Fromm and Atsuki Kido for comms this year it would be meme-tastic!! As ill-prepared as they were last year, it made for some great laughs!

Speaking of which, a dedicated friend of mine made a terrific highlight video about the commentary during last years race. This is a good watch to pass the time if you have 30 minutes to burn!

Autosport web is reporting that Alex Palou, Sena Sakaguchi and a driver (unnamed) drove Mclaren Customer Racing Japan car at Suzuka 10h test.
Last one driver seems to be Oliveira.

Nice lineup, assume the second car will be made up of the European factory drivers

One of the best looking liveries for the 720s GT3 so far.

Good lineup and team, curious how they will fair against the big boys of GT3

I remember Ratel (or someone else from SRO) even apologized generally for the bad coverage and in some cases entirely missing (geoblocked) coverage due to the last minute tv deals and also as a result these ad-hoc commenters. So it should probably be better this time...

That livery is taking its colors from Hakkinen's classic F1 helmet.

Maybe we'll get a proper commentating featuring the great John Watson this time. Granted I did not mind the stretches of engine only racing during the race in 2018.

Never heard of him in any non-European race (in recent years). Blancpain Asia typically has Bruce Jones.

Team Goh withdrew from Suzuka due to BOP, their understanding of the reason they aren't getting acceptable BOP is because so few Mclaren's are running in SRO series (2 currently, 1 in British GT, 1 in GT Challenge Asia).

There are actually more running on Michelin shod series, 1 in IMSA and 3 in GT Open.

During the qualifying comms team consisted of Sam Collins, Ronnie Quintarelli and some Japanese woman (that same radio host as an year ago!?), so while it is an improvement it still feels like a second-rate production.
