Schumi Discount Kimi
Schumi has all-but written off Kimi ’s chances of winning the World Championship this season.
He said, "I really think that it will get more intense between me and Montoya.and that it will be decided between us." http://www.itv-f1.com/news/news_story/17780 |

It's a shame for Kimi. Had that Merc not blown at the Euro GP, he'd probably be leading the WDC. Shame.

it looks slim for Kimi, his car is not fast enough and basically he needs both of them to get a retirement

TGF is playing mind games, the one your not watching is always the most dangerous!

Though I'm a Kimi fan, I don't count on his WDC this year any more.
He could only won it if: a) both JPM and TGF retire at least once in lat two races, or b) he wins both races and TGF finishes 3rd, or lower, on both. So, I guess Kimi's chances exist more in theory than in real world. P.S. Yes, miracles do happen, but I don't expect them |

He still has chance to win, but it will be a tough fight. TGF is playing cool.

Michael is more or less right. It is an outside chance for Kimi. Seven points. He is in with a shout, but realistically it will be between Michael and Montoya.
I suppose if Kimi wins both races and Montoya acomes second in both. Kimi will win on count back over Montoya awith Michael one point behind! Close city. However, it is not so much the fact that Kimi is seven points behind it is more that the Ferrari and Williams look stronger at the moment. |

I still think that Kimi can win the world championship, it only takes Schu and Montoya taking each other out in the next race and he'll be right in it again. McLaren will probably be in better shape in the US than Italy.
I don't think that McLaren can win the constructors cup though, that is a Ferrari V Williams shootout. |

Okay, what about this for a USA GP Result
Kimi - 1st JPM - 4th MS - 8th Making them all on 85 points. It would be funny if neither of them finished the Japan GP. |

IMO too many bad things have to happen to too many drivers, to give Kimi a real chance, cos too many drivers seem more competitive than him, as far as now:
MS, JPM, Rubens, Ralf, are all expected to have a faster car: imaging that the finn can catch up with them is hard. Of course everything's possible, but i think that JPM agrees with MS. |

taking twigs example who would win, TGF for his mid season run of wins? Montoya for this recent run?
i think TGF has won the most. Last edited by Smokey 6 litre; 19 Sep 2003 at 13:45. |

I think Kimi still has chances to win the title.
But, more or less, Schumi was right. He just think that JPM was his main rival. |

If Kimi had a stronger team-mate it would make things a bit easier for him (despite what the FIA say about team orders). DC will probably qualify badly again & that will be race over for him.
MS has the strongest team-mate at the moment - one with a realistic chance of taking points away from the other title contenders. I'm hoping JPM will do it but MS has got to be title favourite. |

I don't think twig's example is quite right, as Kimi is 7 points behind Michael and that would put him 2 points ahead. All the same, a situation with the 3 contenders being virtually level would be superb.
Michael now have 5 wins, Juan 2 and Kimi 1. If it came ot countback, he's got it. |

It's all mathematics and mind-games. Kimi is by no means out of it. All we need is TGF to crash and it'll be wide open once again.

Kimi needs to win while both JPM & Schumacher have poor races, while i'd love to see it go to the wire with three contenders i think Kimi hopes are nearly gone.

Well, all we need is for JPM and TGF to crash and then Kimi to win, then it will make it interesting in the final round

TGF takes pole and JPM is second. In the first corner they touch and spin, Kimi goes to second, after RB. They mess up RB's pit stop and Kimi goes first and win. TGF and JPM make a come-back into the points finishing 7th and 8th.
Here comes Suzuka. |

But with the whole media saying Kimmi is out of thge running surley he has nothing to loose in taking chances in Indy.
I hope to see what kiimi's really got when he lets it all hang out. |

Kimi has had the most mis fortune from all the championship contendors, Had the Germany incident or the Nurburgring failure not happened Kimi would have been leading the Championship!!!!

Unlike Schummi, Montoya is refusing to rule Kimi Raikkonen out of the race for the championship.
"If Kimi wins on Sunday then everything will be changed around again," said Montoya. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/moto...ne/3137778.stm |
