Maybe Ralph Firman will get justice after all!
He now has a test with the BAR F1 team at Barcelona from the 14-15th of December driving one of this years cars. Dave Richards also said that they are watching the Formula Nippon series as part of a ongoing evaultation process. So it looks like people are beginning to sit up and take notice of Formula Nippon at last.
Lets hope Ralph can put in a good performance and hopefully lead to a full time drive or testing role. Here is the full story. http://www.crash.net/news_detail.asp...3&language_id= |

This is quite logical: One Ulsterman going out(Irvine) and other one going in (Firman).

Is he that good? I know he was competitive in F3, but he spent an awful long time in the wilderness of Nippons

It seems very logical to me. Having driven for Honda's favourite son - Nakajima - in F.Nippon, where else would they place him for an F1 try out?

I agree, he didnt have a fantastic season. He was just very consistent all year and in the end it paid off. Stil credit where credit is due and he did deserve to win in the end I think. It just wasnt a outstanding season.

Is he an Ulsterman? I always assumed he was born near the VD factory in Norfolk?

He was confused himself: I remember his Brit F3 car having a Union Jack in left side and Irish tricolor in the right side of the car, under the name.

I still think he could make it into F1, all depends on how well he performs in the upcoming tests. If not oh well theres Formula Nissan with lots of top drivers such as. Justin Wilson, Ricardo Zonta, Marc Gene..
