Bernoldi 2 - Firman 0
Two poles for Bernoldi in both qualifying sessions. Firman had mechanical problems in first session and finished last, and spun and ruined his fastest lap in second session, finishing last aswell. Anyone expected more from Firman? I'm sure things are going to change in the next rounds.......

Expecting more from Firman?
It was a late deal, no testing, he had mechanical problems. What could he do? He'll get race wins later in the season. |

He's won in Formula Three.
He's won in Formula Nippon. I'd rate him about equal with Bernoldi. |

I agree with you, Kicking-back.
The B.A.R should remember his signature line and prepare to eat his hat at some point this season. Mind you, the team does make a difference. |

Took him 7 years to win in Nippon though (IIRC). Hardly setting the world on fire is it?

Completely missed this - been away over the weekend. Who is Firman driving for?

You could turn that around and say that no one offered him the chance to race in a top car for 4 years. And, even then, he had little excuse for not winning the title at his first attempt in a top team.
If he's still struggling after 2 or 3 more rounds, we can defiantly write him off. For now I'll give the benefit of the doubt. |

Especially as his team-mate (Juan Cruz Alvarez) took second and third in the two races at Jarama…

What do you expect about Gabord, JJ Jet Plane? The champion team of WS lost the majority of engineers and mechanics, and the support of Renault, all went to Pons team.
Then, Argentinian entrepeneur Reynaldo Cozzani enters into Gabord with his supported driver, Juan Cruz Álvarez, and bring into the team the group of mechanics and engineers that helped the young Argentinian to get the title of WSL last year. Cozzani's "sub-team" is called Reyco, and now his group manages Gabord team, then, it's called "Gabord Reyco". Clearly Juan Cruz Álvarez has bigger chances to be the #1 in Gabord team... |

Yeah Mekola but surely it helps bring Alvarez on if Ralph is given good machinery and support – teams and drivers learn a lot more when there is more than one competitive driver in a team. I reckon Ralph will be much further up the field at Zolder, but it also looks like Alvarez is a little star. Good luck to both of them and well done to Reyco for supporting someone who is obviously a big talent.
