MGCC Donington Easter Sunday
Wow, what a fantastic day.
Started at sign on - I was given: a £10 note, a sew on badge, a metal plaque and a blue metal flask with the MGCC logo on it & free coffee & biscuits. Then I was allocated to what I consider to be one of the best posts in the UK - 9 The Old Hairpin. Met up with the team and then the fun began. In the 1st of 7 practice sessions we had 2 overtakings under waved yellows, half a dozen span and continues + a couple in the gravel. That set the tone for the day and after the 3rd race I'd used up the Observers Pad. Huge thanks to Paul Stilling (The Chief Marshal) and the MGCC in general, my advice to you all is: if the MGCC is coming to a circuit near you, be there, trust me you wont regret it. |

Couldn't have put it better myself...
So I won't We set some sort of record on 39 today. No (that's 0, zero, none, nil) cars in the wall or gravel outside the Esses. Some to the inside, some startline troubles, some spun-and-continued but no (0 etc) in the wall. Time to change my brand of pie |

Couldn't agree more, no queuing and great goodies at sign-on, interesting racing, efficiently run and I even heard people complaining that lunchtime was perhaps too long .
And at Post 2 -Redgate In there was enough action to get loads of practice flag waving plus I still had plenty of lunchtime to wander round the paddock and meet a few old friends. Steve |

Forgot to mention that I had an ex-pat friend who now lives in The Old Province of Canadia to visit this weekend and he decided to come along this morning to see what I enthuse about so frequently.
He loved it! A proper introduction to marshalling (thanks to the team) and he now intends to do some in Calgary when he gets home. His grin at the start of the first race was a sight to behold |
