2021 Supercars Championship - NTI Townsville 500 - Races 15 & 16 - Races 17 & 18 & 19

This weekend is the start of back to back race weekends in Townsville.

There are two 250km races this weekend. Next weekend will be the Supersprint format.

Last year's parity adjustments went too far and now look at what a joke the series has become, not worth watching.

Usually the end of a set of regulations see a variety of teams at the front.

At the end of the Group C era, there were two Holden, two Ford, three Mazda teams plus BMW and Nissan with competitive cars.

At the end of the Group A era Nissan, Ford, BMW and Holden all won races in the ATCC.

Yet the end of the COTF era only two teams (888 and DJR) can claim any real consistency at the front of the field.

The problem is not Holden v Ford parity.If you take 888 out there is reasonable parity across the field and if anything Ford has an advantage.Cutting Down 888 would send all the other Holden teams to the back of the grid.
Written as someone who thinks GM and Ford are both rubbish as car manufacturers.American car companies have been clueless about quality control compared to German or Japanese car manufacturers.

Bingo.

It’s not a parity issue it’s that 888 are on top of their game and they’re hard to beat when they are. It’s not that interesting when one team runs away for a 1-2 on multiple occasions but hey you can’t blame the team for bringing their A game on race day.

I’ve seen countless idiots on social media braying about parity over the last 24hrs when it’s not the issue at all.

Ah the whole Holden v Ford argument really defies logic when you see fans discuss parity. It’s all emotion with no sound knowledge or understanding at all.

The point is that last year it was only Scotty that was leading the way for the Mustangs yet we had this big parity review even though everybody knew that he was going to the States to race this year, now the situation is reversed so when is the 2021 parity correction coming?

I (genuinely) couldn't give a rats about one make or the other when it comes to parity discussions - as long as parity is managed well then happy days from my point of view, so I ask this in a non-partisan way.

Was there really a big parity review in 2020? There certainly was one in 2019, leading into the start of 2020 but pretty much little on that front since then.

Parity has never been about wins but opportunity to win - if a team or teams does a better job with paritised machinery, good on them but if the parity pendulum has swung too far and favouring all teams with one make more than the other, then it seems like an adjustment could be due.

May as well talk to supercars as discuss with you, you just pedal the supercars line, the fact is that Roland's continual whinging last year tipped the balance in T8's favour.......end of story.

Whatever dude - happy to disagree with you. As I asked in my previous post & you haven't yet answered, it may be faulty memory but I can't recall a big parity review last year as you suggested - plenty of "whinging" if you want to call it that from both sides of the fence & I'd suggest that is unlikely to go away any time soon.

Not convinced that anything is massively out of whack parity wise just now. We had two teams dominating the series last year (one from each manufacturer) and as many suggested when one of those teams effectively disbanded, the other dominant team would likely stay well out in front this year and that is what has happened so far.

Clearly the parity adjustment that was made during the week, Mustangs 1,2 and 3 in qualifying for todays race, or is it just that the other teams have stepped up this weekend
