OPEN SALOON/SPORTS RACES THRUXTON F3 MEETING
Between the Barc and CTCRC an open saloon race has been organised at thruxton on the Sunday 17th august at the F3 race weekend. Although this is a two day meeting the qualifying and both races will take place only on the Sunday. It will consist of a 20 minute qualify, one 15 minute sprint race then a 20 minute handicapped race at the end of the day to make things slightly different. This is open to all saloon cars and sports cars. I believe as well that any weekend memberships are being waivered if you are already not a BARC or CTCRC member. All for £290. Contact Nicola at Barc 01264 882200 or Andy at ctcrc on 07860 473512 if you are interested..

Looks good value to me on a big meeting and a superb track.
Better check the car and get entered then. |

Well what a great race day we all had at a dry Thruxton on Sunday, great value for money racing and I think the handicap race was probably one of the best races I have taken part in for a very long time.
Well done CTCRC and BARC lets have more of this next year please. Andy |

Historic Racer we meet again,do you have a problem with the CTCRC as almost everything we do you seem to have a go at.
The Thruxton event was a bit of an impromptu event so organised at very short notice for club members only to start with, but with the club going to Spa many of them did not want to do an extra round. The club then opened it up to non members two weeks in advance. Thanks Andy |

A suggestion Historic Racer, and you have till Wednesday to get your entry in without late entry penalty. The club has a meeting at Brands Hatch on the 6th and 7th of September so why don't you bring that Mk 1 Escort of yours down and enter it in the Pre 83 race where it belongs not out with hoards of later model cars and M3's that shunt you off. May see you there I will be out with the IROC-Z.
Thruxton was available as its owned and run by the BARC who organise the CTCRC's races and the two clubs have had a long association. |
