Rain trending for next Saturday at the Roar.
Always good to get some slippery practice in. Still waiting for IMSA to post an entry list. |

So glad I decided not to stay in a tent.
Such an ugly thing, and so true. I look at Petit in 2009 when they only stopped it when the Audis started floating on the puddles, and Petit 2016 when most of the race was a parade because the world's best sportscar drivers only drive in optimal conditions ... All rain will mean at the Roar is misery for the drivers and the spectators. Rain at the Rolex will mean a parade or a parking lot. |

There is a slight chance they will be required to run
the car at race speed during damp conditions even only a 1/2 lap. Therefore ,one would like to know what the (especially a new ) car will do in the damp. Its nice to know the wet limits when the trophy is on the line. Play your cards right, you can pass the folks in the damp who are waiting for the yellow to be thrown. Then again , some teams might not want to risk tearing there stuff up in practice if its wet. |

Oh, there will be some GTD teams running around out there---there likely won't be any standing water, and for teams with limited test time, like one-off GTD teams, it might be worthwhile to run even at low speed. And who knows? Maybe IMSA will officiate differently this year. On another hand---Continental is debuting all-new tires this year (http://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/qa...mp3-expansion/) so possibly they will want teams to test their rain tires---or possibly teams will want to. Rain will still be miserable for the spectators. |

the end of the tunnel is getting brighter! |

How quickly y'all forget that all of Thursday at the Rolex last year was run in torrential downpour.

Wonder why an entry list has not been released yet. Cars unload in 3 days. Maybe waiting on some team announcement or something?

I also remember Petit 2015, when it wasn't raining hard at all ... and the cars weren't racing much at all. Worth being soaked all weekend, to see the Porsche win. |

I lived it.
Many hour were spent in the back of the van after qualifying with the heat on full blast to dry my shoes. |

I don't see any real surprises on the list other than lack of PC cars. I don't know if Spirit of Race had been confirmed in GTD so that's good to see, and there's been rumors about Turner but they posted a few days before New Years saying they were headed to Daytona. |

Me too. Entry list should be updated before the actual test to add Performance Tech PC and Alex Job R8 plus a lot of the TBD drivers in there.

I wish to echo this. I look forward to your multitude of videos in the wake of the Roar, Lanky Turtle. I very much look forward to seeing your videos from the Roar this weekend. Can't wait!

IMSA makes a BoP adjustment already before the test, with a reversal of the decision to let P2s make aerodynamic changes to allow for higher top end speeds.

It's a test, this is what testing is for. They can further tweak it.
