Mt Panorama has to be the most challenging, frightening, thrilling and spectacular track for touring cars. In fact the annual V8's race is more spectacular than any F1 race that I can remember. I posted this in the F1 forum also. NAASCAR at Mt Panorama would certainly be possible and even more spectacular, but as I posted in F1 forum, this track could never be brought up to teh requirements for an F1 race. I don't know whether this race is televised in the U.K. or in the USA, but if it is, don't miss it. Marcus, Invader et al will tell you the date it will be on, sometime in end of October or beginning of November - I just can't remember. If you imagine the vertical of Spa increased about 3 times, then you will get some idea what this magnificent Aussi track is all about.

Bathurst
Spa Nordschleife I've seen NASCAR at Bathurst...don't bother. Now Rydell in a Volvo S40, that's spectacular. |

Cadwell Park and Oulton Park???????
Whoever is recommending them has to get out more, as a driver neither have a whole lot to recommend them although both are a bit of a challenge. (The challenge being not to hit anything when you get it wrong) Spa Mount Panorama Brands GP Monaco GP Old 'Ring have got it tied up I think. Old Osterreichring has been dug up now hasn't it? RickP |

Spa & Bathurst for sure.
Dnq, I think you're being a bit generous about QR, I would rate it a bit lower than that. |

1. Bathurst
2. Indy 3. Lakeside 4. Morgan Park 5. Gold Coast 6. Blah... Hey, don't knock QR, fantastic media facilities. If ever you want to phone your friends in Alaska/Mexico/England, pop into the tower, it's free! Jacky Stewart et al came and inspected Bathurst in the early 70s as a possible F1 venue, but they were petrified by the place.... and anyways, open wheelers a part from FFords are banned from racing there. I've seen NASCAR racing at Bathurst, and quite frankly it is pathetic. Ok, they go over 300 km/h down Conrod, but by the time they get to the chase, they don't have any breaks. And besides that, they have twice the braking distance of any other touring car... |
