What will return?
As the British GT is welcoming back the 'Big Boys' do you think we'll see a return of the cars which used to race,
TVR Speed 12, Saleen, Lister Storm, Ultima GTR, Marcos Mantara LM600 Evo or will the championship be filled with Vipers! P.S, when is the lauch of the GT's? |

There was a report in yesterday's Motor Sport News that Lister are building a new Storm for J-CW and A N Other. Graham Nash are also planning to enter a couple of Seleen's. As for the rest not sure.
I can also confirm that there will be a new team running a Corvette next year. They are called Embassy Racing and are based here in Wakefield. They are looking to run at Le Mans in 2006. The official launch of the 2004 Championship will be held on December 17. |

Excelent, only 6 days left!!!
I know my brother is praying that the Speed 12 and the LM600 Evo will return. i think the Speed 12 may return, seeing as it had been running for quite a while, and that only new regs forced it out rather than financial problems. |

Damn shame. I loved the Marcos - crazy idea, find a big Chevy engine and then strap yourself to it in a plastic seat, basically. Sounded great.

What Marcos are you refering too. I saw one run once here in the US at VIR and it was a total pile. I believe it was called a Mantis and was running in GT class at a Grand Am race. A very poorly prepared car and quite slow possibly due to low financials on the owners part. Hideous looking as well, didn't look like a well conceived racer to me. I'm assuming there are other models that are actually good cars.

Lister will be busy with LMP and FIA GT projects so I'm not that sure they'll put their full weight behind a UK bid, but probably wrong.
GNM, yes, more than likely, they have nothing else on the cards at present. Marcos, too old, too slow, too unreliable. Speed 12, too slow, too unreliable, not competitive. Stealth, if Ratel doesn't like the Golf, he sure as hell isn't going to allow one of these into his series! The same kind of goes for the Ultima, Colin Blower's version is the most sorted, but they'll have their hands full with the Vx 220 project next year, so not sure. As for Vipers, if Lister do come back and the Saleens are given decent restrictors, they'll be no point, they're getting a bit long in the tooth. |

Audi R8R: the Marcos may be old but has won races this year in the EuroGT series and it won the championship in 2002 against some of the best Vipers, unreliable it can be but it certainly isnt slow,
The Stealth is still a sports car, you cant compare a stealth to a Golf, whether Ratel lets it race, or even if anyone wants to race it will have to be seen, The Ultima again is still a sports car in general i agree that the Vipers are long in the tooth but the Hezemans car proved its pace in this years FIAGT's even though the thing usually broke down, i think a Viper could still be competitive if run by the right people |

I agree Dafacus, Audi R8R yes the Viper may be old and a little on the slow side - but its fast enough to compete with the GNM Saleen's, as the Force One Vipers proved this year in the FIA GT series, sure they wasnt reliable but they are still pretty quick - and a welcome addition to the British GT series, I agree too that the Ultima is much more of a sportscar than any VW Golf, and belongs in the championship.
Next year if we are lucky we will have maybe, 2 Saleen's, 1 Lister Storm, 2 Vipers and maybe a couple of Porsche GT2's, the rest of the field in GTO and GT Cup I think will remain much the same as this year. |

Peter Cook and Point Preparation have their Viper and Porsche up for sale...
http://www.pointpreparation.fsnet.co.uk/ Maybe some teams should take note of that, afterall it does have British GT history as it is |

I can confirm that Lister are going to make an attempt on the British GT Championship - I recived a press realese last, which was also the same interview that was on DSC. In it Laurence Pearce said that "The British GT effort is definite though. Nicolaus Springer wants to win the British Championship"
