Racecar Series - Nascar's French "filière"
The Racecar Series (www.racecar-series.com) is a French road course-only stock car racing series linked with FFSA and VdeV. It uses Chevrolet V8 5.7L 450hp engines and tubular chassis. Nascar is growing a link with the series to attract the best drivers to West, East and (particularly, I guess) Canadian series.
2010 Racecar Series calendar: 3-5 April - Nogaro (FFSA Super Série) 23-25 April - Lédenon (FFSA Super Série) 7-9 May - Dijon (FFSA Super Série) 25-27 June - Val de Vienne (FFSA Super Série) 23-25 July - Nürburgring (FIA European Truck) 17-19 September - Le Mans (24 Heures Camions) 11-14 November - Daytona (non-championship race, road course) |

stockcars on the Daytona road course?!
Horrors! If Big Bill was alive, never would've been allowed. from the same site that NaBUru38 linked is the SPECS/HYPE pdf page. looks to be entertaining.....too bad we in the states will probably never see or hear about it unless we are on 10-tenths thanks for sharing! |

If they'd drive at the oval there would be noone showing up would there? NASCAR is given a possibility and they immediately use it. Indy has hosted Stock cars while it has a history of not doing so. This isn't much different in my eyes.

I wonder if any of the teams might be looking for a welder?

Was interested to see the series has FIA blessing as an international series now, and there's a round at Brands Hatch supporting DTM

Interesting car, looks like an early NSCS CoT that's melted slightly... Shame they don't fancy somewhere like The Rock or Donington really or I'd be right on the case

A piece about them coming to Brands in todays Motorsport News.
There must be an opportunity to have some form of series that allows the remaining ASCARS, the Late Model European Series, these & the remains of the SPEEDCAR series to run together on a mix of Ovals & road courses, surely? Or work together to promote some sort of "package" or "ladder of opportunity" Last edited by andy97; 24 Aug 2011 at 10:18. |

Think one of the problems for ASCAR was that they only ran at the Rock. A mix of ovals and road courses might have been good for for their health and longevity. |

One of the main reasons I attended this event was to see these cars. I thought they were brilliant, races good, drivers and teams were very friendly, and ideal on the Indy Circuit. I spoke to a number of marshals, and they all enjoyed these cars; I did not hear a bad word. Hope they come back next year. As I said in an earlier post, this is where ASCAR could have been if they had not apparently been tied to Rockingham.

Saw the coverage from Brands Hatch on MotorsTV today and really enjoyed it. Shame on me for not following the series more closely this year.
