Danny Watts signed as Renault junior driver

Well done Danny!

From:www.grandprix.com

JANUARY 20, 2003
Renault's juniors
Renault confirmed at its launch in Luzern, Switzerland, that it has signed Allan McNish and Franck Montagny as its two test drivers for 2003 but also gave details of new signings in its Driver Development programme. Last year there were five drivers in the programme but this year only four have been retained: Fabio Carbone, Heikki Kovalainen, Eric Salignon and Carlo Van Damm.

In December there was a new selection and three more youngsters have been signed: Argentina's Jose Maria Lopez (19), Spain's Adrian Valles (16) and Britain's Danny Watts (23).

Good to see Van Dam is still in , we lost Monteiro and Kubica isn't it? I think Lopez is really talented, we was good in Formula Renault last year, maybe we can see him in British F3 as well? I think Watts in is with Fortec.

Awesome news! Well done Danny!

I guessing he will team up with Eric Salignon at Fortec or David Hayles' new Hitech team - whoever gets the Renault deal. ;-)

Adrian Valles????!!!!!! that isd a bit of a surprise to me, it makes me wonder if there are political reasons after that, wich would be bad. The kid is good, but he has to prove it yet. he has raced in a very low competitivines category and won it, but it doesent say anything at all. He is done one pole in nissan 2000, but no race wins, so...

dave certainly kept the deal, he was sealing it when he was at fortec, the renault guys thought he was the front man so to speak. Good luck to danny hope he does well this year, he doesnt have the advantage over the other racing drivers this year like he did in formula renault (what with being in it 3 years to win the title!!!!) but saying that he is good.

Danny Watts with hitech got signed 2 nearly 3 weeks ago wd40 and the renault deal got signed in december, before McLaren Autosport Awards...

Congratulations danny well done...

He won in a dominant way the FJunior 1600, and was a frontrunner in the FNissan 2000 against the likes of Matteo Bobbi (Minardi F1 tester), Porteiro (champion of the series), etc. , and you say "but it doesent say anything at all". Yeah, right

Best of luck to all Renault Junior drivers.

morcilman, i thought that you have any problem in particulsr with the WS, but after read your message about adrian valles you are simply... idiot. es acojonante lo tuyo macho...

by the way: the notice of valles is of public dominy from two moths ago, so this is a clear indicator about how you attend for spanish motorsport world.

is very nice that you use this forum to insult. You can like my ideas or not, but to insult is not very inteligent from you, and says a lot of your reasons to be in this forum. You should go back to de la Rosa fourum were you can insult when you can not explain you ideas...

Valles has not competed against any top driver, as Porteiro and Bobbi are not top driver. When he does we will see. There are a lot of drivers in the world that have proved to be good. Valles is probably good, but has to prove it. The reasson that he has being choosen is because therte are political reassons. he is meneged by the organicers circle, and you know that renault and Nissan is the same.

Now insult me back if you cant talk back your oppinion...
