Looks like all the points contenders will be locked into battle early. Maybe we'll get to see a really good race. |

Meanwhile, Jean Alesi continues to try to race himself out of a job. What on earth was that little performance in aid of? Making a vacancy at Prost for Button Spice?
And as far as my Jordans go ... *sigh*. Good effort by Trulli though. Perhaps EJ is teaching him at last how to set up his car. |

The fact that Trulli actually managed to improve his time is remarkable in light of the fact that the pit lane looked like Ventura Freeway when there was one minute left in the session.
I had hoped for better times from a lot of drivers; if the rain had held off, I think we would have seen a more conventional grid, but hats off to DC who put in a smooth and fast lap at precisely the right moment. There are some faster cars toward the back of the grid, Frentzen, Button, Jos and Wurz. (Yes, Wurz, given his recent turns of speed at Jerez and the second session on Friday, I think we are about to witness a man raising his game motivated by fear of failure. I for one, will be cheering him on. |
