Who wants a poster of the 500 winner?
Ok, folks, here we go.
I'm prepared to do a limited run of posters declaring the winner of this year's Memorial Day race. It's not going to be cheap, but so far two members have indicated an interest. The author of this image has given me permission to add some text and graphics to create some posters. I still haven't come up with a price for the printing (that I'm happy with), but the image itself will cost me about $15 US per print. I need to get to 10 to make this worthwhile. I'm doing it at cost. It'll likely be in the $25 to $30 US range, plus S&H. That's for inkjet printing, hopefully 24x36". The only hitch is that it appears I'd have to pay extra for lamination (to protect the inks). I'm going to try and contact PT himself, and see if he'd be willing to sign them in exchange for his own copy (which I think I'll give him anyway). Liz and Flatspot are top of the queue. Who else is interested? |

No, it's the next TGF - "Cheating His Way to the Championship."
Put me down for two. |

Yeah Liz, but he didn't win it did he. Thank goodness for justice The Lone Ranger in the form of Panther Racing and Sam Hornish!

Paul, unfortunately, didn't take home the winners purse, but in my eyes there is no question that he truly won the race. To me that's what counts and why I want the poster. I don't blame Helio but TG sucks!

I'm sure glad I watched that race. It's one that we'll all be talking about for many years to come. But sometimes I have to ask myself, if Penske et al were still in CART, would there have still been such a commotion about the outcome? Would Helio still be considered a "cheater"? Or would everybody just lament in the CART sweep?
It's just something that I ask myself sometimes. Last edited by macdaddy; 19 Oct 2002 at 06:17. |

I guess this photo was taken too late for the yellow light to make the frame. Hey,I like PT and Helio both, but it's over.

No it ain't. Not until Tony George admits that the result was rigged and the true winner of the 2002 Indy 500 - Paul Tracy - is announced.
Just goes to show how pathetic the series is, that the administrators have to rig results to make sure their boys win the race. |

f1manoz..
The results were not rigged. All of the cars had onboard yellow indicators. PT failed to observe it,and he was at fault. The last time we got into a debate, the thread got locked out, let's not go there again. |

Wrong answer. Typical Invisible propaganda. We in here know the real answer and know that the result was rigged. Typical IRL BS. PAUL TRACY - 2002 INDIANAPOLIS 500 WINNER |

If Deserter Helio had still been in CART, there would be no reason to rig the race in his favour and Tracy would have won officially. The idea was to rig it so one of Them "won."
And to say that Deserter Helio didn't steal but was merely the receiver of stolen property, what's the diff? |

Folks, folks! I'm not looking to revisit the debate. I'm looking for people who remain unconvinced by TG's specious arguments and evasion of the written rule, and want a poster declaring Paul's victory.
If you don't agree, then don't buy the poster - but start another thread to debate, please. |

1. I like PT, whereas I don't care either way for helio. 2. Roger kinda screwed with PT's career when he stopped Rick Mears' coaching of him to concentrate his resources on lil Al. This was not fatal to my rooting for Roger (he was supposed to employ Greg Moore, afterall, after some lacklustre Merc-powered seasons at Players), but given the circumstances, I choose Paul over Roger. So I was already happy with Paul's drive. the IRL vs CART thing was just icing. Oh, yeah, the reason I was posting: So that's 2 for Liz, one for Flatspot, one for camcartfan, and Jordi wants consideration. That's 5 of the required 10. Then one for me and one for PT. That's 7. (or 6 if Jordi can't join) I'm going to have to talk to the photographer again about pricing. He wants a lump for up to the first 10. I can't afford that.
