Newbie in Need

I bought a used ROK GP Tony kart over summer, and long story short, I got decently ripped off, and spent more on unnecessarily maintenance, and would have spent less on a new kart. I am now trying to sell my kart, and will feel fortunate to get $4k for it. I am planning to buy a new kart, but after my previous bad experience, I am in need of some guidance. Should i buy a good quality used kart, or is it not worth the trouble and ought to get a brand new kart? Also, what would a brand new ROK GP kart cost? Any other sage wisdom anyone can give me? Thank you!
