The body shell is a throwaway... after the accident earlier in the season, the team took possession of a shiny new bodyshell... but elected not to use it, as the original was pulled straight on a jig.
After the old girl was disassembled in the workshop, a full list of required bits and pieces, of what was salvageable, and what was required to be replaced... a new shell is/was required, which handily is/was sitting in the workshop.... Its funny how something like a race car is handled like a delicate swiss watch when its all together, and running like a top... with plenty of love, attention & kid gloves... and after some accident damage, it gets lifted by any means possible.... |

Going by the scissor lifts in the background which look like they may belong to aforesaid Hire Business, do they have a jig at Sherrin Hire? Or is this where the carcass was dumped when it returned from the Paperclip?

I reckon that there is a good chance that Sherrin Hire may be about to buy Mitsubishi trucks for their fleet. I have seen lots of new trucks parked in their yard..sometimes it looks like they have more trucks in their than the dealer.
They are not short of a dollar either http://www.boomlogistics.com.au/images/boom---bomud.pdf |

For 'only' a carerra cup team, their PR work is pretty good.... beats a few of the main game boys.

Team Sherrin Hire can definetly show some of the V8 boys how to run an internet site, they must be congradulated!!!
There used to be a Michael (I think)Sherrin driving a 4WD mud racer down here in Tassie, that car was always well presented (as much as you could in the mud) and I think it had 4 wheel steering which was a bit different |

I heard today that the Sherrin Porsche is almost ready to fire up. The rebuild is nearly complete.

Either they are very fast and the new car is performing like brand new or they are using too much of their tyres and will suffer in the race.

Your theory seems to be holding GTR, going by the pace of Jason Richards so far this morning. Will be interesting to find out from Wal if it is on old tyres.

You would have to think that most werent on old tyres, with the possable exception of Big Nose, as they set their fastest times late in the session. (Skaife did his fastest on lap 14 of the 41 he did) No-one else did their fastest prior to their 25th lap. Wincup on his last and J Richards on 28 of the 39 he did.
