Rate the Rookie - Antonia Pizzonia
As promised, teh fourth and final in the Rate the Rookie series. Jaguar's Brazillian signing has been up against Webber, quite a tough start considering Mark's acclaimed form, and has made some mistakes, but has shone in places such as Austria. So how does he rate out of 10?

I've not been impressed by Pizzonia yet. I know its early days, but there has been so little to enthuse about.
Hope he gets better in the econd half of the season - if not, its the chop for Pizzaboy, if that decision has has not already been made. |

So far he has been pap. I thought he could do better than this but he seems to be doing a Magnussen. What's more, Jackie Stewart has popped up with his Cossie again to show Pizzonia how to drive. Just like with Magnussen.

Awful. A huge dissapointment given his last year with Williams.

Poor. I really think he has been hindered by the 1 lap qualifying which has put him under pressure. He has over driven the car, become scruffy and has qualified near the back of the grid. His racing hasn't set the world alight either.

He's had a lot of bad luck too, car probs in practice limiting his track time.
I think he's a good driver in a bad team. Jaguar/Stewart have always seemed to be a 1 car team. |

I watched him in British F3, where he arguable had the best prepared car, he went well when his car was to his liking, but he wasn't that good when it wasn't.
He lived up to his nickname with a few offs thru the jungle! Won the title over the wilder TS. Still out of his depth in Grand Prix 'Racing' (good tester tho) |

i dont think he has really had the chance to prove himself, some unlucky accidents (rammed up the back by Raikonnen) but some stupid mistakes (insane diving manouver at Canada)

Not as good as hoped - when in F3 he was my last man that I knew would definitely end up in F1. I agree with Smokey though - I still don't think he has really had enough time yet - but I fear the decision is done and whatever he does he definitely won't be at Jaguar next year. Would another team take him ?

He's had some bad luck, but his performances hasn't set the world alight either. Compared to Webber, he's nowhere (interesting point about Stewart/Jaguar being a one car team though). I think High Contrast's comments were very interesting, and were probably spot on.
I'll give him 4 out of 10. Hopefully, things will improve for him in the latter half of the season. |

4/10 He hasn't done as well as I would have expected given his record in F3 in particular.

For whatever reason Pizzonia appears to have become another Magnussen. He does not seem to have what it takes to be a successful Grand Prix driver. If he could get near Webber he might have a chance, but this looks as unlikely as ever as each weekend passes.
The only decent thing so far has been Jaguar's continued commitment to him. Some other teams spring to mind who would not have been so patient and the Brazilian would have been shown the door a long time ago... |

5/10 - I don't think he's shown very well so far, given the achievements of Webber.
