Eep should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Mk1 Escort TVR V8 (formerly Mike Bell thread)

Looks like they've split up the touring cars and the Interserie since I last crossed the pond, but if they ever put them back together, here's your vehicle:
http://bringatrailer.com/2012/04/19/...rd-escort-mk1/

Hope all is well with everyone. Would love to come over again sometime for another round of the Masters, hopefully in better weather than at Brands in 2010.

That car ran in the 360MRC 6 hour event at Snetterton last year, beautiful bit of kit!

But it isn't Mike Bell. That car runs a TVR V8 and whilst an absolutely fantastic car, is nowhere near the Group 2 Twin Cam Escort known to the world as "Hairy Canary".

And another thing, don't start a thread with a driver's name. First thing I thought was we'd lost him!

Peter, I think it's now "Lairy Canary". Or at least it was at Mallory last year.

Like you I wondered what had happened when I saw the name in the title. Phew.

Wish my Mexico had had a V8 in it back in the day ...

It is one of those cars that you just know would be sex on wheels. But so is my Capri.

I'm 90% sure that Escort was the sister car to the one Mr Jeremy Clarkson raced with the CTCRC at Lydden Hill.

Apologies, if I could change the title I would. Mods, please do so.

And no, absolutely not his car. I just saw it on bringatrailer.com and it made me think of the 2010 Brands Hatch Masters when they ran the Interserie revival with the touring cars. 2L Escorts on the track with 8.8L McLarens. I thought this might be the right weapon for Mr. Bell if they do that to the touring boys again.

It was the camera car at the Lydden race with Clarkson. Driven very well by a guy called Nicky I believe.
