Great F1 drivers with Facial Hair??
I was watching Rubens unshaved look at the press conference and was wondering, what was the last decent driver with facial hair. I can only remember Mansell's moustache, but that's kinda it.
PS: another silly thing that popped in my mind: does anyone know Pantano's face or remembers it. Come to think of it, neither him or Bruni will have a face attached to the name if I don't do a google search. BAD PR. BAD. |

I like to think of this thread as "F1 drivers with great facial hair" rather than its current title!
Button did have a marvellous spattering of bum fluff for a while, and to his credit I thought! Damon Hill had a bit of facial furniture for a couple of races in '98 or '99. Alonso has had a variety of experiments with his plethora of beardage. There's a bit of a superstition with beards and F1 in that bad luck feeds off it! |

In real life, facial hair is more common in the USA than the UK - and it's the same in racing.
So, while not a great F1 driver, Bobby Rahal was a famous "fast moustache". |

Damon used to generally have his beard during the off season. His testing beard! Wattie is the most famour I guess, mainly because he shaved it off after winning a race in the Tyrell. |

Jacques is the last guy to get on the podium with quite a beard, at Montmeló 2001. Before him, with a beard, Watson's win, I think.
Barrichello has sported goatees on occasion. He had one in his France 99 podium. |

Didn't Keke Rosberg have a moustache? Or am I remembering him after he stopped racing?
Damon always was clean shaven throughout the season, only growing facial hair in the winter, as I recall. |

Keke did have a moustache while he was racing - there's a picture earlier in the thread.
And Damon's beards were usually restricted to winter, but he had a couple of goateed races. |

Fabrizzio Barbazza, or however you spell his name, had the best hair-do! With that hair he must have been the MAN at all 70s disco's!
