The new Koenigsegg CCR - more power!

Here's the new Koenigsegg CCR. Some new design changes, like the side air intake, the front spolier and so on. The big thing though is the new power figures:

806 bhp - 6.900
920 Nm - 5.700

A upgraded supercharger and a new exhaust system is making those figures possible. Can't wait until 0-100 km/h and topspeed is tested...

WOW

In standard form it was already one of the fastest cars in the world

Top speed must be 270+ mph, but at what point does the amount of power a car needs to keep accelerating rise steeply? It must be somewhere around that mark

the way the doors swing open is soo cool, un seen by me ever. and that exhaust hole is so slick.
a sexy car, nice thing the little overhang in the rear.
where is konigsegg inregards to racing- surely they could enter LeMans under supercar rules...in GTS. and is that a ghost for a symbol?

The symbol is from a unit of the Swedish Airforce that used to exist where the Koenigsegg cars are being build now.

as i recall its predicessor did 242mph, so im guessing with more power 255mph is the maximum imaginable, 270 is a bit extravagant.
The Bugatti Veyron has 1001bhp and that only does just over 250mph.

Problem is, that car was in Gumball 3000, and it must've broken down 10 times.

Well, the owner took it straight out to the race as he got it. No easy on the engine miles before the race.

Some info:

A quote from the official brochure: 0-135 mph (217 km/h) in 10 s flat. 0-100 km/h in 3,2 s. Top speed 395+ km/h (242 mph). Quarter mile: 9 s, trap speed 235 km/h (146 mph). Braking 100-0 km/h 31 m. It's height of only 1,07 m reduces the frontal area and helps the Koenigsegg attain a remarkable top-speed.

Official brochure: http://www.koenigsegg.com/pdf/Bros2004.pdf

The weight of the chassi module is only 62 kg thanks to the use of 21 layers of carbon fibre and the torsional stiffness is 28 100 Nm/degree. Compare this to the stiffness of a Porsche 996 Turbo Convertible with 11 600 Nm/degree. Notice that the Koenigsegg also is in part a convertible with a retractable hardtop. For reference the Porsche 911 Turbo has a torsional stiffnes of 27 000 Nm/degree and that is not a convertible. This offers excellent safety to the driver and passsenger, as seen in accidents during Formula One. Furthermore, the rigidity is also very important for the handling of the car.

bmwm5.com has a great article about it:

the power the car had doesnt affedt the top speed, speed is determined by the maximum gearing in final drive and the differential ratios used. but cars with this kinda power are always gonna be able to reach top speed pure ly cos of the power. and of course comes down to aerodynamics of course, rememer the ford GT90, they predicted tht could do over 240mph, but at 190 the body apnels strated to come off,,,,not good, for the down force

After driving the virtual version in Project Gotham Racing II, and then reading up on some of the specs, I've decided that the Koenigsegg (such a cool name too - appropriately brutal) is my dream car. Does anyone know if there are any examples in Australia?
