Toyota In Trucks
Well the toyota's cannot be sandbagging this bad.
the fastest toyota in Craftsman trucks at daytona was 22nd place, and at 177.xx mph hardly a worry for ford, dodge, chevy in that order running at around 181.xx has NASCAR put big restrictions on Toyota Stuff, or do they not get it yet? http://www.nascar.com/2004/news/head...est/index.html 1. Carl Edwards, No. 99 Ford, 49.664 seconds, 181.218 mph, 1/10 (GO ROUSH!) 2. Bobby Hamilton, No. 4 Dodge, 49.786, 180.774, 1/11 3. Phil Bonifeld, No. 25 Chevrolet, 49.846, 180.556, 1/11 9. Steve Park, No. 62 Dodge, 50.233, 179.165, 1/11 (STVE PARk is showing well) 22. Mike Skinner, No. 42 Toyota, 50.705, 177.497, 1/11 23. Bill Lester, No. 22 Toyota, 50.723, 177.434, 1/11 (who knew Bill Lester Left the DODGE camp?!) |

Hmmm... interesting - they're a long way off the pace. Give them time...
The Roush trucks have shown well - I wonder if that's the Roush/Yates program starting to show dividends? I figured that Bill Lester would probably be on the move when Dodge dropped their affirmative action program (or whatever it was called). He performed reasonably well last year, so I'm not surprised that he's picked up another drive. |

Hamilton did not give Lester a fair shake with quality equipment.

Toyota did the most respectable move, even if it was expected, they didn't have to
they promoted there Dash Driver up to trucks after what 6 years in that wee series "Robert Huffman, who'll also drive a Toyota truck after helping the company get its feet wet in NASCAR in the Dash Series in recent years," i got it on Jayski.com really good move for toyota supporting the guy who went on a limb to race them, and i hope he does well up in the big league. Trucks rule. |

I agree gt. Huffman did well in the Dash series, with several titles, so he has earned his chance to give the big leagues a shot. Good luck to him.

It good to see that Huffman is being rewarded for his loyalty. Expecially since the Goody's Dash series is dead now. It also good to see that Geoff Bodine is back racing again in the truck series in the #03 Chevy.

Wow, I didn't know Bodine was going to be back in Trucks. Maybe I just haven't paid enough attention. It's good to hear, though...
