Only 6 days to go and it's about time I'd say. So get in quick with your predictions for 2017. Thread will be locked prior to the start of FP1 in Australia, and will reopen after season's end. Let's have a minimum of 5, and a maximum of 10 quantifiable predictions for the season.

2. Lance Stroll will outscore Felipe Massa.
3. Ferrari will finish second in the constructors' championship.
4. At least one McLaren will fail to get beyond Q1 in Melbourne.
5. There will be no mid-season driver changes.

1. Hamilton wins the WDC.
2. HAAS get a podium.
3. Red Bull will win at least 3 races.
4. There will be 4 wet races.
5. Hamilton will upset people who don't like him and will be vigorously defended by those that do.
6. The manufacture’s championship will be won by a fizzy drink watch maker.
7. Vettel will win 2 races for Ferrari. Raikkonen 1.
8. Stoffel will be the first person named Stoffel to get an F1 podium.
9. Daniel Ricciardo announced as Ferrari driver replacing Kimi.

9) Liberty will prove him wrong.
10) The biggest revolution in F1 will be the growth of on line or mobile platform viewing

11. McLaren will have a torrid, torrid season, resulting in Alonso finally giving up and joining Haas for 2018.

Bonus 11. Silly season will be dominated by speculation of losing Hulk, Massa, Alonso and Kimi to retirements - 4 of the big 2000s (pre-Merc domination) names. But Kimi and Alonso end up staying.

1 - Sebastian Vettel becomes a 5 time champion
2 - Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso, and Felipe Massa all announce they will leave the sport (and actually do), creating a chaotic driver market
3 - Bottas will ouqualify Hamilton in the second half of the season
4 - Hulkenberg finally scores a podium (although I've been saying this in various places since 2012...)
5 - The safety car leads the most laps in the season opener
6 - 2 drivers get mid-season sackings
7 - Despite a good season and increased competition up front, many people will continue to say that the sport is dying
8 - Verstappen causes a pile-up involving at least 3 cars in the race following his only victory of the season
9 - We witness a track invasion as part of an anti-Trump protest at the US Grand Prix
10 - Lance Stroll crashes out of at least 6 Grand Prix

1 - Ferrari wins a race, but its not enough and Marlboro man gets fired.
2 - The cars will be unable to pass without DRS
3- As a consequence of 2, 'missiles' like Verstappen and Kvyat will lose patience, throw it into corners, and cause accidents at least twice each.
4- Alonso will throw at least 5 hissy fits.
5- Hamilton will get beaten by Bottas more than once and then claim that it was because he had to share setup data.
6. Hamilton will win the WDC and announce his retirement.

1] McLaren will not win a race in 2017.
2] Both McLaren drivers will use up their allocated engines before round 11.
3] Vandoorne will outscore Alonso.
4] Alonso will sign on for another year with McLaren.
5] Lewis Hamilton wins the championship before the final round.
6] All previous fastest lap records will be broken.
7] Ocon outscores Perez.
8] Stroll will DNF at least 5 times.
9] Massa stays on next year at Williams.
10] Raikkonen retires from F1.

1. Ferrari will be challengers for the championship to the end of the season.
2. The lack of overtaking will cause a lot problems and lead to much talk about changes.
3. Only 3 teams will win GP's this year Mercedes, Ferrari & Red Bull .
4. There will be political problems for F1's new owners likely to come from those connected with F1's past.
5. Renault will finish in the top 5.
6. Only 2 teams outside of Mercedes, Ferrari & Red Bull will finish on the podium.
7. Ocon will prove to be the best of the new drivers. ( I know he had a few races last year)

1. Mercedes will romp away with the WCC again.
2. Stroll will bin his car in FP1 on at least 3 occasions.
3. (Controversial) Brawn will leave his new job at the end of the season after finding that the politics of F1 are just too much to bother with.
4. Alonso will walk away before the season finishes.
5. We'll have a "rookie" winner.
6. Haas will win a race (I can dream!).
7. McLaren will not complete the season with Honda engines.

(I have to miss out me being on TV at Silverstone this year as I'm not going)

You can't play the favorites if you want to stand out, so some are against the current thinking. And sorry for #10 which is a downer prediction...

1. Hamilton will complain about Bottas.
2. Bottas will force an error on Hamilton which will see Hamilton retire from a race.
3. Neither McLaren will see the finish line in Australia if they even manage to qualify.
4. McLaren will only use Honda power during the course of the 2017 season.
5. Honda will not leave F1 during or immediately after the 2017 season.
6. Honda will show enough promise to pickup an extra team for 2018.
7. McLaren will score at least one point.
8. Alonso will leave McLaren at the end of 2017.
9. Kimi will win at least one race.
10. A race will be red flagged due to a significant crash.

Bonus (doesn't count)!

11. Mercedes will remain with Mercedes power throughout the entire 2017 season!
