Has Webber lost his bottle?
First we had Mark Webber moaning about the relatively poor medical provision at F1 tests. Now he is moaning about safety during Monaco qualifying with the fear that drivers will back off and get hit from behind.
Top F1 stars are well paid to take risks, if the driver feels the risks are too great for him then he should retire. I think Mark is just moaning to take the spotlight away from his poor performances in F1, he has been in F1 since 2002 and has not claimed a pole position or a race win. |

Hmmm. I would say both points he has raised are quite justified. He hasn't been "moaning" to my mind, but rather making perfectly reasonable comments.
He will compete regardless. I guess it would be better if he never said anything or than pre-written statements provided by his team? |

The point you seem to be missing is that both Webber and Coulthard are directors of the GPDA and they are speaking on behalf of all the drivers, not specifically themselves.

The drivers, I'm sure, feel it is their duty to point out what they feel is an unsafe condition. I think we get too complacent after watching these guys on TV, where everything looks so sanitzed and the cars look like they're just cruising around. The last thing we need is to not react to a safety concern until, God forbid, there is a bad accident or fatality. F1 is safer now then ever but improvements to safety should always be welcomed.

It's good to see Mark Webber taking the lead with the drivers demands, it proves that he has what many don't... an in this case his doing his job in GPDA very well.

Whilst I think the moans about Monaco are a little pointless (we've been racing there years for gawds sake) Mark has a duty to raise any issues that he personally feels are unsafe. If he doesn't, he is not doing his job properly.
I fail to see that this has anything to do with track performance. |

i dont think mark is raising these (fair arguments in my view)to take the spotlight of him not winning would shumi or fernando or kimi win in the car mark has been given i dont think so i think mark would do as good or pretty close to what shumi fernando andkimi if he was in there cars and i still think he would raise these issues.

IMHO, by raising the Monaco issue now, it can be properly addressed in the drivers briefing as opposed to some polite chats ala JV and Fisi. There have been quite a few reports about slower(ish) cars during qualifying thanks to the fuel burn credits and Monaco isn't a place to do it.
PS- Webber has only been with a "top" team for a year and a half, unlike some other winless drivers... (cheap shot, I know) |

Yeah he's just doing a professional responsible job as a GPDA guy.
Give the guy a break, he's pretty much considered as one of the top men in the sport 9even though he hasn't got many decent results yet) but he's definitely one who would if his car lasted long enough on the circuits it likes!! |

This thread has no point but to bash Webber. Closed.
