The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will be held on June 26.


Ken Block will enter the Hoonipigasus, a 1400hp pink-liveried Porsche 911.

The Loeb Peugeot 208 in 2014 and the VW ID.R in 2018 are two of the most awesome cars I've seen at the Festival Of Speed, but aside from those glorious examples surprisingly few serious hillclimb cars go up the Goodwood hill each year.

Would be good to see the likes of Menzies, Summers and Moran at Goodwood but I fear the cars would be too quick for the mainstream boys. Graheme White Jnr was the last true hillclimber I remember being there.

Alex Summers drove the Goodwood hill last year ... in an experimental electric GT car!

Lord March is very fond of having the hill record held by an F1 car/driver, to the extent of finding a spurious reason to discount the sub-40 sec run by the VW ID.R in 2018. I suspect having one of the drivers you name obliterate that record in a shed-built hillclimb special wouldn't fit the narrative .

I’ve never noticed that. Especially when such a big thing was made of the ID.R. Even came back a second year to blitz it.

I don’t think I’m actually considering this, but has anyone ever been? What’s the form? Seems you have to get there early and your stuck. Are there places nearby to stay easily, or is it a camping thing?
