Jean Alesi's "brilliant" move while attempting to pass Heidfeld ruined the day for Alain. It had been their first decent show of the season. How much worse can it get before Alain goes home in shame?

A moment of genius from the Frenchman. I give him 10/10 for his drive, passion, motivation etc. but I STILL cannot rate him THAT highly as a driver. Outqualified by Heidfeld and then just plain stupid in the race.

"I made a hand-signal at him [NH] as we were going down the pit straight"

No Jean, use the flippin' pit radio, dear!!!

As for Alain, just quit. There isn't enough ibuprofen in the world......

You gotta admit, Jean got him good! For such an experienced driver he did make a dumb move, who knows maybe he was just trying to tap Nick, payback for France?

Well, with today's scintillating performance, Jean Alesi will surely have secured his drive for next year.

He will be competing in a 1981 Ford Granada, with a roll cage constructed of builders scaffold, the wings sawn off at the corners, and the phrase "The Undertaker" painted on the sides.

Title sponsor will be "Joe's Auto Spares - Canvey Island"

He will have a fresh car for every round, and will be competing at Wimbledon, Bovingdon, Mildenhall and the Millom gravel circuit.

With all the glass knocked out, he will be able to make all the hand signals he wants...

Three words, Nick: PAYBACK IS HELL.

Alesi clearly doesn't care any more, and figured that if he had to go, he was taking That Stick Insect with him.

Well done, Jean. Take Alain out for a few stiff drinks and then go get a job in sports cars where your talents will be appreciated. F1 has passed you by.

alesi knows that his car will never make it to the end anyays so hes just trying to have some fun around the circuit,
prost puts it all on the motor, but as a matter of fact the pegout motor is very powerful, its the car thats no good and
not built for that motor, i guess they were counting on a supertec for y2k.

Is this the same Alesi that everyone around here was calling the best driver in the field atm...not that long ago?

That was a pitiful performance for the best driver...Senna would never run into his team mate, oh hangon But at least Senna had a reason

Jean: Give up now, and give my grandma a drive

ROTFL I've never read a thread where I've agreed with everyone before! (and ended up with sore smile muscles)

The shot of Alain on the telecast after the accident summed it all up! I'm with Liz, Jean get ye to a sports car! (or maybe the BTCC)

The dust settled, and Vicky chuckled. In the distance there was not one but two Prosts in the gravel trap...

JEAN: Look mate, I STILL rate you as the best, as your driving on Sunday was marvellous until that little incident. If you and Nick need to sort out your differences, try something a little more... civilized. Chess, for instance.
