is it 4wd? based on my experiences with circuit racing cars, i would of thought at least 500lb all round assuming 4WD and your using proper sticky tyres.

HI is that Graham Bahr from track and race cars, with the BMW.. how you doing..
It’s an st165 model running engine & gearbox from st185. It is 4-wheel drive. Want to use it for tarmac road events & maybe the odd bit of circuit/track racing later. Have had spring rates suggested from 450 front 250 rear & 500 front 300 rear all ratings in Lbs Also wondering what’s the best route for dampers, what make, what rating.. Any suggestions welcome cheers jon |

yep thats me, beemers in bits as i'm turbocharging it.
as your cars 4wd i would go for similar spring rates all round, i presume your cars probably a bit nose heavy, so with a lighter rear end and the same spring rate as the front you would get some oversteer (i hate understeer) for full on circuit use the 500 that i suggested isn't actually that stiff, the beemer uses 750 front springs, and my mates escort uses even stiffer springs. if you dont want to spend the earth go talk to leda re shocks |
