But is it turbo...?

Although why you'd bother putting a V8 in a Skyline escapes me - you can get 1500HP from a Skyline 2.5l engine if you tune it right

Ah maybe so, but it won't sound like a Nascar V8, will it.

to be different from all the other inline 6 skyline drift cars out there anyway.. you'd probably get more interest from potential sponsors.. promoting your Dodge Nascar engine 250 Gt... than something that resembles the typical 'boy racer' car .. that is often seen doing stupid things on public roads. Nascar engines are rated over 800hp and a typical Nascar races is 3-5 hours long.. so I'm sure it will handle it's self at a local drift event.

Other than a V12/10/8 F1 engine at full song, NOTHING sounds better than a V8 (with the right pipes attached) revving it's rods off!

Which brings me back to my belief that the sound is a very important part of the whole motorsport package. I can recognise, understand and appreciate a good race when I see it, regardless of the cars involved, but I'm convinced that's not enough for the average punter spending his entertainment dollars.

That's where F1 has dropped the ball big-time (again, my opinion) with these awful sounding engines. Hell, they don't even call them engines anymore. Also, at the risk of slipping into rant-mode, who really gives a monkeys about fuel usage in F1?

^ that's all for a very different thread.

I'm blown away by the coverage of this event. And people say pay TV is a bad thing. Crazy talk.

Should make for a great weekend on the couch, I just hope I'm able to convince by better half.

Sounds ok but nowhere as good as a Quattro or BDA on full song in a forest on a cool clear night.
