Andretti buys US A1GP -- hurts US chances
I can't believe Michael announced his drivers will be Marco and Danica -- Danica will surely run at the back of the field and Marco is only a bit better than average-- Jonathan Summerton is a much better driver than Marco IMO -- he was our only chance -- Now Michael has ruined the US chances this season -- I hope JS can find a way into GP2.

I don't want to be rude, but isn't this already discussed somewhere?

It was covered in the season four thread when it was announced, but we might as well have a separate team USA thread.
I agree with bluewolf, Summerton was doing very well at the end of last season and with him in the car again I think USA might have been well up there. I guess winning the championship isn't Michael Andretti's objective this season however, I think it's more about giving Marco and Danica Patrick more experience on circuits that turn both ways, and perhaps beginning to diversify the company instead of having all eggs in the IRL basket. |

Danica at the back? Surely not. I would have thought she would either be at the front or in the wall. (Or having a "discussion" in the pits with another driver. )

It will be interesting to see how they fair against some skilled drivers. Not to good I reckon.

If Buddy Rice of last year is any indication, or Brian Herta who drove in season 1

At least Herta was midfield but Buddy Rice...not sure if he was a driver or a form of ballast with head and limbs attached.
At least the Andretti Green thing should raise the profile of A1GP in the USA. |

Why not give Carl Skerlong a go? His stats in Driverdb suggest he may be a very able driver
I'd definately keep him around for at least the rookie sessions. And er.. it was very easy to be midfield in S1 lots of cars crashing out all the time, taking other cars with them (Jos Verstappen comes to mind lol) |
