Reduced Entry Fees for Formula Fords

Thats got your attention! Except it only applies to Zetecs! I had an email from the National championship coordinators the other day, Ford will be paying start money to drivers in the remaining rounds. The meeting at Brands will work out at £150 (after the start money is deducted from the entry fee) for a 30 mins qualifying and two 20 mins races.

Sounds about right that.

No help for the Clubbie that has supported Formula Ford through thick and thin and kept it going.

Reduced Entry Fees for Formula Fords

A bit of a reverse trend - to this thread title - has just been announced on the FF1600 website for the MSV round at A1GP.

Quote:
However, the entry fee, set by MSV, has been confirmed as £250 for qualifying and two 15-minute races. This is slightly more than the standard MSV entry fee but reflects the added prestige of the event
1. Not 'slightly more', about a third more.

2. I thought the entry fees were set by the organising club, not the championship sponsor.

Methinks I need to get Opal Telecom to set the NW entry fees at a much lower level. Must give Neil Mc. a quick call

I don't think that they set their fee in their role as championship sponsor but in their role as the organisation promoting/arranging (not organising) the meeting. It is an increase, but probably only to a 'normal' double-header entry fee level. And you do get to attend a much bigger meeting than the rather thin one this Sunday at Brands, for example.

Can't see what that matters Ian. Seems more like someone cashing in to me, and they might well come unstuck.

With only about 10 cars having done the ONLY test on the GP track, if they come out with qualifying at 5 am on the Friday and a race on Sunday at 7.30 pm or such I think people anticipating 40 car entries might well be wrong.

I'm sure it is John, but I suspect that is the justification.

Of course, they could charge you £175 and only let you out of a windowless concrete bunker for the FF1600 qualifying and races. I suppose the £75 effectively pays for the four tickets for the incremental ticket cost of A1GP over that for a standard clubbie. It could be argued.

You maybe right John.

I am now going to wait to see the timetable before entering as my Marketing Manager at Gulf has left and the new person doesn't start for a while so they are not going to run hospitality at the A1 GP anymore as they have not been able to plan without a timetable. So if we have rubbish times I might go up to Croft to help the boys out in winning the Championship instead.

I'd be surprised if they publish a definitive timetable before entries close.

I'm just not sure I can be bothered.

The number of cars entered could well effect the timing of qualifying and the races. The time table will be issued after entries have closed. Might be full already?

The GP circuit entry fees have always been much more as was the testing

It's only £50 more than a normal MSV Brands round to race at a premier meeting and on the GP circuit

I am sure I paid the same amount 2 years ago to do one race the on GP circuit

JP has given us the opertunity of racing at this high profile meeting on the GP track, I have no doubt he will be rewarded with a full grid.

I entered months ago giving my card details!

Mods, might it be an idea to split and merge all the A1GP round discussion into the A1GP thread?

Which is where I have been telling you all along that you should be. Just about to email DDMC to request the garages that weekend.
