Formula 1 in Greece: the Olympic Grand Prix

There's this article on GrandPrix.com mentioning a Formula 1 track near Athens, Greece. It points out the former main airport of the city, Helliniko, which was refurbished for the Games of 2004, as the venue. Here it is:

Look it up on Google maps or whatever. It's just south of the city, near the harbour.

Are we up for an Olympic Grand Prix? You design the track!

The harbour is just south of my picture.

And have you read the article? Supposedly they're planning a Melbournesque circuit.

Eugh - ISTR it was a horrid airport. Hopefully, it'll be a better GP circuit. Here's my go, though it's more like Mexico City than Melbourne:

I get the same message. As to the circuit I don't much like airfields, but if this one has a rail connection,it is a viable venue, unlike Silverstone.

Guys, it's not supposed to be an airport or street course. Read the GrandPrix.com article carefully. Hellikinos (or whatever) is supposed to be a Melbourne-like track.

Apparently, there's still talks about a Grand prix in Greece. I found this map of the area with the Olympic stuff in there. Let's try to come up with an Olympic Grand Prix circuit again. I reckon the area within the red dotted line is ours to use.

Here's my go, got some nice corners around the outskirts IMO. I thought they were planning on using them anyway

I don't like it very much as a venue, in that are they going to knock down the olympic buildings or what?
