Croft 18th/20th July.
I know many of you are still on duty as I type this but can I say a big thanks for your efforts yesterday especially waiting an extra 5 or 10 minutes for your lunchbreak so little me could have his own private out of session run around to get in my three laps familiarisation after breaking down with an electrical fault in qually lap 1. Blimey I felt like Lewis Hamilton doing a few demo laps but there the similarity ends, thank God I never slung it off the track how embarassing would that be?
BTW great track and friendly people and the local pub was excellent, good weekend. |

What was the dodgy noise from your transmission Al, I saw you went out again so I guess it wasn't as bad as you feared.

Hi Bob nice to meet you.
Well I asked to start at the back in the 2nd race because I thought it would last a couple of laps and wanted the point for starting and doing one lap but it held on in there so I just carried on. Its an odd one though as one of the noises was a tyre rubbing on the inner arch when I did right handers which was odd in itself as you would imagine on the outer edge and was looking in the wrong place. Now you heard that clicking noise but when I drove the car nothing. When I got it home and unloaded it I got the same noise pushing it into the garage and I woggled the gearstick and it went so whether it had half selected a gear I really don't know! I pulled the diff cover off fully expecting to see the oil turned into a mettalic paste and the crown wheel knife edged but it was perfect, most odd. Oh I think I found out why I embarassingly was left standing there at the finish and never got presented with a trophy for winning my class (I mean I was the only one in it so must have won )it was because they had me down as class B not class A! |
