Scrutineering is underway and the first pictures have been posted on Endurance-info.com.

Nice to see the Acemco Saleen back. They have slightly changed the livery on the car.

Biggest pleasant surprise for me out of this lot is the WR - looks like a racing car (albeit an indiosyncratic one) and the colours all work well.

Nice to feel I can legitimately start to get excited about the whole 2006 Le Mans thing now.

looking at the pictures of the radical is it me or have they finally painted over the carbon fibre on the car now? (admittedely it is just black paint but it looks very different now)

you're right, it's black paint

hopefully zytek will be quick in the testing and do well in the race but they should be fighting near the front especially after last years astonishing results and also the great result and spate of speed the car showed at spa in may so it should go well for them. and here is a piece of information from the zytek website.

at 10,000 RPM the new 4.0 V8 makes 700bhp in the zytek, bye bye pescarolo

Why is WR still using the one-piece bodywork?

WR have used a one-piece bodywork since 1993. Maybe for costs reasons. Unfortunetely, during the 1996 préqualifications, the WR driven by Sébastien Enjolras lost it between Arnage and the Porsche curves and caused the last tragic accident at Le Mans.

But isn't it expensive if there's some bodywork damage? Was the bodywork reason for this tragic?

As the whole bodywork flew away, the car suddenly lost all its downforce and took off.
