Help needed - on line newby

Greetings all, been a player of racing games for many a yonk, mainly the GP games + everything on the xbox.

A good mate (and fierce rival!) and I have both finally ventured out and purchased fairly good pc's, with broad-band.

We are looking for a game to play, car racing would be good but bikes also good, prefer F1 games, so we can play head to head on line.

Anyone have any tips on

a: best game(s) for serious/realistic fun
b: playing stuff on line!

Cheers all

F1Challenge is easily the best F1 game on the Pc, but it's also the hardest to get hold of, as EA sports stopped making it, but there are tons of mods around for it, but if you have a hunt, it surely can't be that impossible to find it, can it? Try ebay and places like that.

Over the weekend i downloaded the GTR2 demo, it's fantastic, it's only the demo, but the actual game comes out september 30th, there's no online play in the demo, but the game will have it, and i'm using the demo to get some practice in before i join in the online fun.

If you want the demo, go here.

P.S, love the name

Live For Speed is very good. I've got the S2 licence.

The online multiplayer is very good and I've had much fun driving in races with other 20 over people, especially the Formula XR's.

With the S2 licence you get the 2006 BMW Sauber to drive which is extremely fun. Its also the only sim I know at the moment where even the sidewalls of the tyres move when you you go around corners. Have a search of this forum as I believe there some screenshots showing just that posted relatively recently.

Yes, I think it was Rockmunky who posted screens of the tyre wall flex.
I downloaded the LFS demo and it turned out to be one of the few modern sims my laptop could handle (albeit with heavy sacrifice of graphic quality).

I didn't try it online, but I can well imagine it being really good fun, if you have all the cars the license brings you.

GPL can be bought from SoldOutSoftware.
