Merc CLK GTR Roadster
Don't know if anyone has ever come across this but I was browsing the supercars.net website looking at very high car prices! And I found this interesting Mercedes - and its street legal! Top speed: 320 kph / 198.8 mph and it does 0-60 in 3.8 seconds!

Also if any mods feel the need to put this in the Road car forum I'm sure it will be good there too.

i think it may be legal to run in gts with a porsche 98-gt1 or a clk-gtr but if rules permit you would still have to incur a penalty as the aco impose penalties on cars deemed as "supercars" such as the zonda so cars like the corvette c5-r and 550m can "keep up." as to what these penalties are i dont quite know but i think they may be smaller air restrictors. (for 2002 le mans the saleen s7r's incured a penalty of a 10% decrease in restrictor size because of there pace at 2001 le mans, however the reliability wasnt good that year!

There are no restrictions as such.
Supercars run the same restrictors (the Saleen was penalised due to a lack of road cars, not its 2001 pace), but the Supercars are allowed less mods, like an N-GT car. Under ACO regs they have a less effecrive aero package also. Old GT1 cars are banned from GTS. They could run in LMP1 like the Lotus Elise at Sebring however. You could also make more mods to them as it is a prototype, rather than production based class. Last edited by JAG; 14 Mar 2004 at 22:19. |

Well here's one of two 1996 spec 911 GT1s - saw it as I was dropping a friend off in Egham. I'm ashamed to say that it didn't actually look in that good nick.
http://www.racecar.co.uk/talacrest/s...9ZVS396001.htm "These two cars were technically the precursors of a series of twenty street-legal 1997 911 GT1 cars which were later built with different exterior styling, and sold to private buyers." |

btw looks like theirs a normal GTR hiding in a corner in some of those pics (the CLK-GTR roadster ones....)
Looks good, but i doubt the ACO would allow it to race |
