Hill's got it right!
A very low but decidedly accurate view of what F1 is all about:
"The only way to make Formula 1 enjoyable again is to remember that 90 percent of viewers only want to look forward to a Sunday in front of the television watching highly-paid egomaniacs fighting over a tin cup." The whole article is on www.autosport.com and provides some good reading! |

Once again Damon is spot on .....he goes on to say
he believes that Formula 1 has become too obsessed with furthering its commercial aspects and has lost sight of what made it appealing in the first place. |

Brilliant stuff Damon!
You can tell he's the son of a former F1 driver who knew what the sport was REALLY about. How we remember, with great fondness, those glory days of the sport... |

The article started with Damon saying that he could sort out F1with accessto the meeting and a fire hose! Quite a well written piece I thought.
His main point though is lost on most people here - it's not Max and Bernie - it' the team bosses. They have the say-so. They don't want Spa. |

Wait until they race in Bahrain and someone is firing stinger missiles at pit road. And they can't get their bimbettes into the country, and the Hawaiian Tropic Girls have to wear burqas.
If they think they're badly off now ... Damon is right, the top 3 teams are so busy stuffing money in their pants that they have completely lost sight of the fact that the golden goose is going down for the 3rd time. |

Yes! Damon Hill should be president of the FIA. Everything he said in the Telegraph article was exactly the view of many of us fans - especially the "furthering commercial aspects" bit.
Greed and geeks are killing the sport of motor racing from karting to F1 - drivers are the heroes and anything which detracts from their effect on results is just plain wrong. |

I wish someone of Damon's understanding wouod stand against Mosley for the FIA leadership....
it would be nice for the FIA to get their feet back on the ground again . |
