Where can I race my Ralt RT30

Hi

I own an 1985/86 RALT RT30 F3 car which I curently sprint. Ideally I would like to race the car in some form of historic events. Both Classic F3 series do not yet allow the car to compete. Does any one know where I can race the car either in a UK championship or in Europe. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Can I really run the car in Classic french F3. I seem to get no response to my requests on thier web site.

Lifeline-fire, sorry but the RT30 is too modern for French Classic F3 - cut off date is 1983 and latest Ralt that can be used is RT3.
In order to run in mono it must have an iron production based engine - most people run 2 Ltr 16v vauxhalls or Toyota engines. This would almost certainly be the best championship for your chassis. www.monoposto.com
Provided the engine is limited to 2 ltrs you could do the SEMSEC races at Lydden hill as the regs are free save for the 2 Ltr limit.
I think your car is too old for ARP F3 but google for their website which should have the info.

Hello

You are welcome to race in our swedish series.
We run all formula cars according to FIA Appendix K category G,H,I and J
ie all single seaters before 1987.

At Mantorp Park 24-26 september we are expecting 2 RT3, one RT30 one Magnum 853 one Chevron Bt36 and a GRD 733 and of course some FF1600 and FF2000 small but friendly series all at club level. We usally have between 15 and 25 cars in the heats. start fee is 2000sek aprox £140
For this you will get 3x25min free practice friday, 1 timed practice and 2 races.

Sorry about the French error but ARP is 1985 on so you would be OK there I think.

Value for money - try Monoposto - your car would be capable of going very well in it, plus they have a race at Spa each summer.

driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
if u have vw fitted remove it and fit 16v vw lump cheapest way to race- u may not be the fastest out there in that format but u need to use steel block motor blue print not tuned hence 16v over 8v but we know the 8v can be tund to give more bhp than the 16v in a free formula
lydden has 2 f3 cars racing 1 is rt30
also the silverstone BARC races seem good value for novice racers

My Reynard 883 has a VW 16v engine fitted. There is also a Ralt RT32 ( i think with one also). This weekend there will be yet another VW 16v in Monoposto in the form of Francis Phillips RT3.
Come to Castle Combe on Monday to see the cars. As for being slow...yes they are down in power to a Vauxhall 5-15bhp but they weigh less...20 kgs ish.
I have won one mono round this year in my slow Vw, the only person to beat Mr Lewis on the track this year!

There have been loads of people pushing for Mono and I, too, would suggest that that is the best place to race. Great people, good racing and good vfm. However, the obvious downside if your car is still fitted with a F3 type engine (am I right in thinking that the LifeLine car has an Alfa F3 Engine?), or any non standard non iron block engine, is that you will obviously have to change it. Several people in Mono have done this with Ralt RT 3's and 30s, so there is plenty of advice available. Whilst you consider this try the BARC-SEC single seater series - races take place at Silverstone's Stowe circuit, Lydden Hill & Brands Hatch and are great value. Practice and 2 Races at Silverstone Stowe cost £110 and the class structure allows for any single seater up to 2 litres to take part - Ray Rowan has run an ARP spec F3 car and Adrian Mossop (I think) has also run his Reynard. The Stowe races are ideal for someone considering a toe in the water exercise. The next race is at Stowe on sunday 29 August, they'll still accept late entries, or just come along and have a look. Hope to see you out in the lifeline car.
