Brands Hatch Festival
Jamun Racing drivers dominated the festival qualifying today.
Newcomer, Philip Glew has taken pole for heat one, whilst one of the favourites for this weekend, Ben Clucas is on pole for heat two. Overall times are. Clucas, heat 1, 47.895 Glew, heat 2, 48.025 Asmer, heat 1, 48.043 Foster, heat 2, 48.075 Danielsson, heat 2, 48.091 van der'Pol, heat 2, 48.109 Kimber-Smith, heat 1, 48.181 Once you get your head around the way the races are being run, it should be quite a weekend. |

You fail to mention how well Clarke did in the Ray! P.4 in heat one - Though I reckon group one looks the less competitive of the two groups?
But Well done to Clucas, he always can come up with the goods when he needs to, tis maybe the difference between ok - good - great?! The festival rocks! Last edited by UKFFORDSTER; 17 Oct 2003 at 20:54. |

Just bear in mind that Makela has been ill all week and is now on the mend - he'll be going for it from 8th on the grid tomorrow!

Interesting to note Peter.S that you didn't mention that the Jamun Racing drivers who dominated were not actually in Jamun cars but were in Mygales

Sadly Sato san, the pass was under yellows so he was given a 3 sec penalty and dropped back to 3rd. Just watch him go tomorrow - he'll be angry now!

O well....if he drives like that tomorrow , without any wrong doings ..no one else will stand a chance ! |

Yeah, but it's not the first time this year that Valle has lost a win at Brands for that reason! I do hope he wins though - the Kentagon won't be a safe place!

Jamun have not built a Formula Ford car for a couple of years.
They had to prove that they are just as capable at preparing cars than any other. I think that they have done this and more. |

Some great racing yesterday. Sad though to see the entire festival entry all able to be housed in the pit garages!! A sign of the times.

Any Festival news? Particularly Mr Makela, if, as people say, he's making the others look ordinary? We must have some race results by now??
The only time I saw him race, he was quick but maybe a little too robust in his defence of the lead? Good to watch! |

Clucas was 5th at the end. Shame, as I like him and I follow him (although i've never met him, I like his racing style).
Any news on the Kent Festival driver who was injured???? I hope he will be OK. |

Well done Joey, but I'm really really chuffed because it's a brilliant result for my mate Phil Wills and the Continental boys! A million congrats Phil (absolute legend)

Well Makela did sort of go for a gap that Clucas hadn't yet created exiting McLaren/entering Clearways. Even if he has been penalised (and I need to see it to believe it), then 5th is still little reward for someone who should have won the Festival imho. Daren't talk to Ben after the race had finished though, so I don't know if the car was lacking a bit.
