Help! Croft marshals

Dave (Brand) and I would like to marshal at Croft on the weekend of 10/11 September, however, before volunteering we need to find somewhere to stay and this is where I need your help.

I am looking for a reasonably priced bed and breakfast fairly close to the circuit which also does evening meals.

Thanx for your help

PS Who is the Chief marshal for this meeting and how do I contact them?

I cant help ya with the b+b but the chief marshal is Steve Gibson. You can contact him on 01642 644201 or email on news@darlington-motor-club.org.uk

You could also look at the Croft web site. I can't remember the URL for it now (Google will find it) but I know that the accomodation section is pretty good cos I was looking at it myself just a week or so ago.

Prices vary, but I think there was a B&B called Markstone, or something similar, that sounded pretty reasonable.

This is just 1 mile down the road from the circuit.

Never stayed there, and don't know about the prices, but it's very nice with good grub.

If you phone, mention your a marshal, might give you a discount!

Thanx!

Thanx for all your help, I've done the deed and we're off to Croft, staying at chequersinn although they don't do discounts for marshals anymore and contacted the Chief marshal.

I hope you have a great time at Croft i would like to marshal there sometime in the near future. I was born in Darlington (v.close to croft) and after 4 years of marshalling still haven't made it to Croft!. You have made a good choice with the Chequers Inn, though. I have never stayed there but have dined there several times and i was impressed!

I'm surprised you got into the Chequers as I've heard he's not keen on us motorsport fraternity, and as for food can I suggest Mcadonalds or KFC as atleast their food is nearly edilble. I was at Croft marshalling this weekend and heard some very un-favorable reports about the food and attitude when suggested that meal be cooked as Lasagne isn't supposed to be like Sushi !!!!!!
