R2 Fujitsu V8Supercar Development Series Championship at Wakefield Park, NSW

... or Wakefield Park to be more precise.. at the Fujitsu V8Supercar Development Series?

38 cars entered (fewer will show) we have some TCC entrants in Mr Wyhoon and Mr Neville joining the series, will they put any pressure on Mr Macrow?

Can Mr Caruso win in the Decina Ford, or Mr D'Alberto in the GMAC Commodore?

My tip... Mark Porter...

Oaksnaf should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It certainly will be interesting to see how Whyoon goes in that ex-SBR AU.

But there are also several other competitors that are new to the series this year whether at Wakefield or in other remaining rounds, Mark McNally, Matthew Hunt, Chris Alajajian and Dean Neville.

My top 5 would be Caruso, Porter, Scott, Macrow, Pretty.

I think the title should reflect the track's location in Goulburn (or specifically Tirannaville). Braidwood is a much further drive down the road

Matty Hunt will be a darkhorse for the weekend - lots of laps around their in his own V8Supercar, and now stepping up to the Fujitsu Series.

My picks: Caruso, Macrow, Porter, Denyer, Pretty

Jeez you're a nice bloke but because I wasn't gifted into the LS Club and sponsorship is very hard to come by, probably never. Got an enquiry about the GT series but still need money!

yeah true but you still need the dollar to do it right or why bother, after watching Paul Morris in the ARC I wouldn't mind a crack in one of those jiggers.

But is it ex SBR? If it's the car he's been running in the TCC, I think it's the ex Thexton/McLean/PHR unit owned last year by Matthew White. At least that's what the Gulf Western website would indicate....

actually changed because its kilometers from Braidwood and is actually in Goulburn the track is 10kms south of goulburn, Braidwood is over 80km south of Goulburn and there at least 3 other towns between the track and braidwood.

the track is on braidwood road though and the area is more accurate named "Tirrannaville" here endeth race track geography 101

oh year the next round of the main game will be in albury

Is it just me or is there very little info on the official V8 supercars website regarding this round?

I wanted to find out when practice times were going to be and all I found was the times for race 1,2 and 3? what gives?

Is this info out there anywhere?

Big call Sausage, but as a fellow Kiwi, I'm with you on this one...Mark Porter's proven he is a front runner, and lets not forget he put his new car on pole at the Clipsil first round....KS is on a high and if Oscar can help engineer the car more to Kayne's liking, then yes I think he is also in with a big chance....After all KS led the field in the final practise session at Clipsil, and was on P1 for most of the qualifying session before having to settle for 3rd, after surving a spin in the last sector on his hot lap....No turn 8 and unforgiving concrete wall's should better suit our newly crowned NZV8 Champ...Go the Kiwi's.

Seeing as Luke Youlden will be driving Grant Denyers car at Wakefield, i think he should be included as one of the main chances for a win.

Luke is obviously a talented driver, but even driving the more powerfull Ford Falcon, he couldn't hold a candle to Scott in NZed this last season....Which all goes to prove if you have not got the machinery, even Schuey looks bad....If Luke does beat Scott it will be down to the car not the drivers in this instance.

Some rather dirty things went on in NZ when concerning Youlden.

He is a pretty decent steerer and as you said pete, he should be amongst the top runners, especially since you would expect him to be over a second a lap quicker than Grant - and he finished on the podium.

As I said before Luke is a talented driver no question or doubt about that, but for you to infer that he didn't have a 'fair suck of the sav' in New Zealand is just not correct.... Sure the overly zealouse officials got it wrong on the only circuit that Luke was competitive on. but no more so than happened to other leading competitors like John McIntyre at the opening round, Kayne Scott being biffed off at Taupo, Manfeild, Invercargill, and turned round at Pukekohe etc.
Lukes problem over here was that he lacked the ability to lead the engineering on his car, I have no doubt that if he was driving John McIntyre's or Angus Foggs car that Luke would have won a lot of races...And I guess thats my point, " you are only as good as the car you have got"...If Grant is that much slower than Luke, in the exact same car, its not Luke thats a super star, its merely the other driver lacks experience in one of these cars, or just plain lacks ability.

Who does everyone think won't make the grid I love the idea of prequalifying which has not been used in Australia on so long.
