Camping at Lydden, any tips grateful
Looking to camp for the first time for the World Rallycross. Got quite a big tent. What hints and tips would you give please.

Easy, stay in a B&B in Dover lol!
Not sure on prices, it gets bloody cold, but you can go behind the start line now, plenty oif space, but also full of drunkards |

The key will be whether they allow camping on Friday night. Theoretically it was prohibited last year for planning reasons. If you can, it's well worth it for about 20 quid for both nights per pitch. It means ypu can get a good spot on Saturday morning! As chunder says, the spot behind the start line is pretty decent , full of drunks and also has the noisy generators going all night... still, it's the experience, right. (I'm getting old).

For an alternative perspective, I camped at the track last year in the field they opened up for tents, plenty of space, no generators, no problems with loud drunks and a nice friendly atmosphere.
It was even warm enough overnight but this being England in May that can be a bit hit and miss. Just be prepared for a long wait to get out because the campsite exit is single file into the main car park field, there was another unofficial exit from the camping field but after watching a group of lads trying to extract a beached Fiesta we decided to walk round the pits until the queue cleared. |

It's rained a couple of times when I've been so you'd need to be ready for that.
I personally can't face it (my back is bad enough) so will be staying in a hotel as usual. |
