Jeff Gordon was doing well from his low starting position, but the tyre cost him big.

Montoya near the front, he must have sorted the car. Although slipping back as the stint goes on...

Being nice and courteous makes you an excellent club racer. A decent guy who goes out there and has fun and doesn't upset anyone.

These guys are pro racers. To get to this level you have to be fairly "type A" and believe that you are infallible. It's all about you because you're getting paid to make it all about you. If you wanna roll over there's tons of guys around you ready to take your spot.

Logano's not established like a Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Gordon, newman, etc. He's still a half step above being the next Casey Atwood. He's not gonna start talking down about himself and planting seeds in team owner's minds.

Mistake or not, Logano wrecked Newman and then Logano proceeded to confront Newman to complain about his style of racing. Then, Joey flicks a guy who could bench press a house in the chest?

Standing ground or idiotic?

I like his fire, but the kid has still got some learning...

You can be a great driver without being a doosh. Mark Martin, Jeff Burton, Justin Wilson, Allan McNish all come to mind and they are many more. I'd throw Newman in that category. They just go out and drive.

Martin and Burton?

You haven't followed Nascar very long, have you? Martin in his prime/heyday of the late 80's/early 90's wasn't a "gentleman" driver at all. Same for Burton. Granted, both mellowed as they got older and slower.

Wilson is an F1 never-was and a mid-back pack Indycar driver, not sure how he qualifies as a "great". McNish runs endurance races in a car/team that is light years ahead of the rest of the competition, he very rarely ever had to "race", don't really see how that compares.

As for Newman? Outside of a good run of poles in the early 2000s, he really hasn't done a whole lot.
