Masters Top Hat - Mallory Park 16 September

Thought I'd get this one started because its a month away and should prove a good shakedown for the 6hrs at Spa.

With Goodwood in the mix I wonder who's going to this one?

All the Top Hat categories except Best of British (what's happened to them?).

arrived this morning, races for everything except sports racers

( They are running an allcomers race for all Top Hat except s/r this is a variation on Sebring Salute I guess..
looks like I will have to wait until next year to get another racing fix!

Anyone doing the Top Hat meeting this weekend at Mallory? Sadly I won't be there as my parents land in Moscow this weekend from NZ and weren't impressed with the idea I would be off racing. However my Cortina will be there with a mad Swede at the wheel. He needs signatures on his license so please give him a wide berth!

Hi Roger,

Am maybe co-driving a (different from normal) GTA there. However, despite the fact that I'm down as driving the SZ, it's actually being fettled for Spa, so won't be there in the that.

The entry list looks a bit thin, to say the least.....

Dry, Sunny, windy. Awesome racing.

Pity about the Safety Car not managing to pick up the leaders, (and releasing a few cars to pick up the leader, but then restarting the race with the few cars out there on the other side of the circuit).

And Jackie Oliver in that BMW - fantastic. Pit lane start to 4th.

Anyone know why the Allcomer Qually was red flagged? I was at Gerrards-In then and couldn't see anything.

Also, how come Julius's Amazon was a no-show? My Dad was looking forwards to that.

Yes Mr Oliver drove my brothers BMW outstandingly considering they had a broken front strut in race 1.

I however had a major misfire, no brake pedal and then a broken drive shaft in Race 2 - but apart from that a good day was had by all.

Except he passed me under yellows on Stebbe straight thus allowing the group I was racing to be waved past the SC leaving me behind. We complained to the CoC but due to an early flight this morning I had to get home. Needless to say it spoiled what was going to be a good race to the finish!

Itbwas odd because in his defence MST had me about 10secs slower on one lap which was plainly untrue, according to them I was last ans lapped then after the SC I was tenth so I apparently overtook myself!

Having made the changes to the front in June I was keen to see if I could improve my times. Well now the front works but is too loose at the back!
