It's about time we started talking about a Ten-Tenths Karting outing. There is a link in Cool Sites forum to Daytona's Karting track in Milton Keynes showing prices and stuff.
Who's up for it? |

I'll leave the Matt Neal bit to you Woody. If you can't get him there then none of us can

Yep - i'm up for that too. I was supposed to be organising something similar earlier this year, but I have to apologise - I am a bloke, after all Let me know the latest as I think you were discussing it on Saturday night (I was too ****ed to take anything in...)

Were we? I can't seem to remember bits and pieces of that evening. Yes, must get karting organised. We need a slightly bigger response than this and a date. I assume that after BTCC has finished and the season is quietening down would suit people better?

Strange that, isn't it Lorna ? I must admit that things kept coming back to me at various points of the day today - had some strange looks from the guy who I was working with today as I would suddenly start laughing to myself...
Karting - late Octoberish ? We have trips out to the circuit most weekends until mid October, so after the end of the season sounds good - we could make it an annual end of season party... woohoo! |

I can't remember anything until somebody reminds me. How did wax get all over my side board where my stereo sits? It took me ages to get that off.
I will check out what days we can visit Daytona (unless somebody has a better karting circuit we could go to) but it would be better if I had more of an idea of numbers (nag, nag, nag) |

I've been a couple of times, but it was a while ago - and i've only ever raced on indoor circuits.
We don't want an endurance event - else we'll all come away knackered and won't have the energy to stop at the pub afterwards... Can't really suss out what they're offering from the pricing (which seems a tad excessive) - best bet would be to bring the booklet to Brands and i'll have a look (like I was supposed to the other night - sorry!) |

I have a better, much cheaper idea and it also gets a free (or not) trip to Oz as well: go to Oz...
I thought prices at some of Brisbane's tracks was bad-ish, but this is ridiculous!! Better find somewhere more reasonably priced if I'll be going... |

I'm up for any karting too, especially if its after the race season has finished (mid-October).
Arrive and Drive is ****, you just go round in circles and there's no racing at all. Daytona MK is OK - its a good long track - but I've been there once, and on the start line there was smoke billowing out of one of my engines. I called a marshall across, he looked at it, walked away, and the lights went green. 30 seconds later the clutch was gone and I was crawling back to the pits effectively out of the race, and this was for a 45 minute endurance race I'd travelled up from Surrey for. I was not impressed... Daytona Park Royal is ****, not a patch on their old White City track. |

Well, I believe they have an indoor and outdoor track in Northampton. I've been on the indoor one. Nasty track surface. I can try and find some information out about them.

I've been Karting a few times, The enduro is good if you have a couple of teams, as 8 - 9 say they will attend meand 2 teams. At least you can race against each other. It does from past experience lead to an enjoyable day. The sprints are good but with a group in means that you are often racing alone against others. If we could get 40 odd then an "in house" endro could be fun with 10 x 4 teams racing. I could probably raise one team, maybe two. If not wait till Friday at Le Mans 2001 Karting Prost 100 FF for 10 min. Maybe we could book in advance for a session ?? Simon |
