This means it's tied at the top before the WDC predictions are taken into the calculation... avsfan733 and bulldogspirit both have 115 points. The winner could still be someone else though, because the rules (and you can read them here) say
Quote:
The scores from the predictions of the final standings will be added to the scores from each round, giving us the winner of the F1 Results Predictions Competition.
So any of those in contention could still win it!

The WDC predictions, which could decide it are then added for the top guns in the competition, in order to try to decide who has won...

Overall Standings including WDC predictions for the top 11:

1 - 123 points = avsfan733, bulldogspirit
3 - 122 points = *formula3*, AdamAshmore
5 - 121 points = Tristan
6 - 120 points = Pitstop, Spritle
8 - 118 points = BootsOntheSide
9 - 116 points = fastracer, nickF1, Valve Bounce

So we still don't have a champion!!!

Right... then back to the rules which state that
Quote:
If two or more users are tied on points, the winner will be the one with the best predictions for the final standings.
Okey dokey... and the predictions for the final standings reveal that avsfan733 and bulldogspirit have both scored 8 points each!

Well...! To the next clause in the rules then:
Quote:
If that results in a tie, the winner will be the one with the highest number of points in one single round.
Okay... checking each round then... and the winner is... after it is revealed that avsfan733's highest score from one single round is 12 points (Austria), while bulldogspirit's highest single scores are 10 (Australia and Austria)... the winner is:

avsfan733!!!

Congratulations!

Well, that was exciting... much like the race today! Thanks to everyone who has participated in the competition this year, and may 2004 be just as exciting, both on and off the track!

I've gotta be pleased with 8th overall, I was hoping to cling on in the top 10. But, like Montoya, I'm sure 2004 can be my year. Congratulations to Avs,a dn honourary mentions for Tristan, who would surely have had a chance had he not missed this round.

12 overall is not bad, SINCE I MISSED TWO RACES!!

MAKING PRECISION CALCULATION, I KINDA CLAIM THE TITLE, BECAUSE MY POINTS AVERAGE IS THE BEST!!!
Infact the winners (congrats to AVsfan33 and bulldogspirit!) averaged 6,76 point per race (17 races, I guess).
I collected 105 points out of 15 races, which means 7 point per race.
As you can see, losers can find anything to get some consolation !
Anyways many thanks to R and who helped him, really a great job!

In short: No. The reason for this is the technical problems we had with the software for the first three races of this season, which meant that those races were not updated normally. This means that the overall standings are not calculated properly in the software, which in turn meant that I had to calculate them manually. Therefore I only calculated the overall scores for those players who were in contention for the overall win (and I calculated everyone who had a mathematical chance of winning overall).

Not ideal of course, but it's the best we can do with the situation that we have.
